DHS Makeover - What we know so far.....

Yeah, exactly. And, if they're on the guidebooks, then there's a good chance that they're first timers or infrequent visitors. The "half-day park!" nonsense comes from the people who have been several times and don't feel like watching the shows or doing any of the non-ride activities. Even with the closures, you've got Star Tours, Lights Motor Action, Indy, Muppet Vision, Great Movie Ride, Aerosmith, Tower of Terror, Beauty & The Beast, Frozen, Toy Story, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Fantasmic, character meets, and a handful of other entertainment options. To paraphrase what a poster in another thread stated, it's only a half-day park if you ignore a lot of what the park has to offer.
Being a DVC owner and frequent park visitor, I feel like I am the model of the type of visitor Disney is courting...So therefore it is not ridiculous to expect that they update and periodically refresh attractions at the parks that I pay so much money attending. Fact is, they have shuttered many attractions at DHS, and the plain fact is that many of the existing attractions have gotten completely stale... Character meet and Greets are completely lost on me, and I don't believe they should even be marketed as attractions, but nice touches...like park benches and water fountains.
It is time this park had some love... With only 5 actual rides, Disney's Hollywood Studios has the least amount of rides of any Disney park in the entire world...

Nice Article Dan, thanks for the link, What is the Blackbox theatre they are talking about towards the end of the article? Marie

It's a new Flex theater space being built between RnC and ToT. It's going to be used as event space while the rebanding of the park happens.

Edit: The flex theater is already under construction, and this along with the closures of AoA, OMD, and VotLM and the addition of the 3rd TSSM track is rumored to be considered Phase 1 of the rebranding.

Join me, together we can rule the galaxy.
I would tend to agree with you, the standby line for Frozen shows have filled the theater and more both of the days we were in DHS over the past two weeks

I wonder why they don't have Frozen run into October, then? They need that float for Christmas at MK, but they could at least buy another month and a half of peak crowds and then flip on the Osborne Lights which are also a big draw. Why set themselves up for an empty park so soon. Come January, it'll be a ghost town til May. It was this winter.

Because Mister Kyle, all the parks drop to a blissful empty come Labor Day and stay that way for a few weeks. Historically speaking, its the best time to go.

What small crowds? Attendance at DHS has never been higher.
Whether or not it deserved it, the crowds at DHS actually increased after they started closing attractions.
And Frozen is not stale; It's still a white-hot property for a large percentage of guests, and as long as the park still has unique Frozen fireworks and shows it's going to be doing just fine.
Highest attendance year at DHS was 1997

I like this article over at The Disney Blog. It doesn't say anything we don't already know but it does a good job breaking down what we know, what it likely and what is unlikely to happen at DHS.

If only someone did this for EVERY rumor. Just to clarify something in this article. The quote from Iger regarding the Star Wars additions drawing only from the new movies isn't entirely correct. The quote indicates it would come from old and new.

Looking forward to hopefully hearing SOMETHING good this Saturday. So what's going to be the best way to watch it live? Periscope? Is Disney doing anything live for those who couldn't make it out to Cali?
