DHS Makeover - What we know so far.....

I hope the Studios ups it's game and soon, or there wont be anything really left. There is so much that is being done and that I will be excited to see, but it is a long way off. In the meantime, attractions are being closed, and the pace of building doesn't appear to be keeping up with that. Even portable acts such as Mulch, Sweat & Shears have been cut with their last performances on 10/10/2015, which makes no sense at all. Why close an attraction that is portable and can be put anywhere in the park to entertain folks during this transition? Marie

Although...the actual content of that phase are somewhat unsettled, from what I hear.
Ah, subtle clue - "Unsettled". Hmmm. So, like an old West or maybe an old Route in the West?

Possibly an old Adam in the West (sorry - had to).

Or "Unsettled" like really busy or bustling? A Monstropolis perhaps?

Or, is "UNSETTLED" a word jumble? You can not help but notice, when you mix up the letters you arrive at "El Ten Stud", a direct reference to Mr Incredible.

Girl-centric? You realize of course that there is a spot called "Gaston's Tavern", complete with a statue of Gaston, yes? That makes Fantasyland one of the manliest spots on the planet. My mother took a bite out of one of the cinnamon buns there and immediately grew a handlebar mustache. True story.

And there are lots of boys who like Pooh and Peter Pan.

Let's not even get into this... GotG? Maybe.

Anything related to the direct Avengers family? No chance in hell.

I do thing a possible idea would be some sort of "heroes" or "action" type area that could include GotG, Indiana Jones, Big Hero 6, Hercules, etc. This would also be the type of area that could be flexible in theming to add/change attractions in the future.

With WDW it's simple just follow the money, Mulch, Sweat and Shears was a long term act, i.e. expensive so as per usual WDW simply did not renew their contract. I'm sorry but today's TWDC is an example of a company which has lost it's soul and is only interested in higher profits in the short term by the time the long term damage is apparent the current crop of decision makers will have floated off on their golden parachutes.

In many ways we enable this behavior by continuing to visit TWDC properties, It's the reason after 20 years I did not renew my premier passport will my action make any difference to TWDC - Absolutely not but no company does well long term after offending it's most loyal customers, TWDC's working assumption is that 'The guests will ALWAYS come' this is NOT true and I'm sure there are thousands like me who don't post who are quietly making the same decision not to support WDW. Lots of things to do in life and WDW is just one of them.

I sort of agree. Mulch probably wouldn't have been around in a few years in any event as I couldn't see them really fitting into the new Studios. Could they have made them fit or do they really fit now?? That is a different discussion for a different thread, but my point is the Studios are suffering from a lack of things to do, even for newbies. Why close an attraction when you don't have to? If it was purely finances, that isn't a good enough reason in my book to justify the attitude "Oh well, the Studios doesn't have anything interesting so let's rent a car and see what Universal has for us." mentality that many more people may be having. Disney has made a point to try to keep guests on their property to spend all of their vacation money onsite. Magical Express is BRILLIANT!! If you make it that these parks don't appear to be worth spending a full day at, you might be driving people off site to other area attractions, shopping, etc. That is just the opposite of what would be wanted, I would think. Don't ever take your audience for granted. Marie

I'm more concerned about phase 4.
Phase 4?
Why, that's like Phase 2 times, well, times 2.

If Phase 2's always get cancelled, as the Imploders prose suggests, Then what chance in H. E. Double Hockey Sticks do we have in seeing a phase 3, let alone a 4? A snowman's chance? A certain talking snowman?

Is there any way to consolidate all this DHS conversation down into one place? It's like random facts and observations across multiple threads...

Phase 4?! I'm just wanting to see Phase 1 and 2 done (well).

Or perhaps we could at least have a separate forum for the DHS threads. With announced expansions, it seems like a reasonable step for these message boards.

What do you think @wdwmagic ?
