So what is definitally leaving that Disney has confirmed?

They haven't come out and confirmed anything as to what is leaving beyond the Animation Tour, which is gone. Same with backlot tour.

It is expected by me & a bunch of others that One Man's Dream will close soon. Voyage of the Little Mermaid is rumored to go soon, but a recently filed permit makes us all scratch our heads. Also likely to be on the chopping block is Lights, Motors, Action but that timetable isn't known either.

Would you like the list of what is staying? Its much shorter Nothing if officially confirmed by Disney, but one can assume the following is most likely to happen as far as staying:

Ride wise: Tower of Terror, Rock N Roller Coaster, Midway Mania, Great Movie Ride, Star Tours in some form.

Likely but less known: Muppets, Disney Junior and Fantasmic!

Everything else is pretty much up in the air as this point, and even Muppets is probably 50/50

That is very unclear and ambiguous.

However the lights will be there this year.
Is there a place at DAK that they could be moved in the short term? I only mention DAK because their Christmas offerings are... limited to say the least. And with the park looking to stay open later starting next year, it could be a good holiday draw, especially with it being a nighttime offering.

I havent asked. Most of the people I talk to either arent filled in on the specifics or are scared for their jobs to discuss them. I believe one friend might start wallpapering their apartment with the amount of NDAs they're under except even mentioning that might violate one of them.

For the moment? I dont expect much activity in the Streets of America area.

As long as Star Wars goes into the parking lot like I hope it will, I don't expect much activity there either.

Which begs the question... what would they do with that space? It's obviously just wasted space at that point. Say they announce a Carsland or Monstropolis for the LMA corner. That gives another solid addition/land, but you'd still have that entire street to do something with.

Maybe if we're lucky, the new Muppets show will do really good and we'll get a Muppet ride. A GotG ride would be a nice transition in/out of Star wars Land too...

I think we've discussed that... Muppets/GotG are all contingent on their success. If the Muppets do well, they should at the very least stay. If the next GotG film does well (2017 kids, 2017), a GotG ride is a possibility.

So what goes in that corner? I don't know. My gut says something Pixar related. And yes, we still have all of SoA that haven't been touched.

Its like we're trying to put together a jigsaw puzzle without knowing what the picture is....

Yep, DHS is a park that will have a lot going on for a long time.

If the TV show does good, I do hope that they at the very least change Mama Melrose over to a Muppets restaurant if they aren't willing to cough up the money for a Muppets based ride.

Weird question, but is there any talk of looping in Sunset Boulevard into an outer rim to get rid of the dead end? I think someone mentioned moving the queue for RnRC...

I still have hope for at least one more announcement/land. At the end of the day, I agree with you, but DHS has always been incredibly show heavy, almost to it's detriment (well lack of investment led to that). The problem is, even if you do multiple days in a park, no one wants to see, what, 6-7 shows? It's just too many.

I got this sense sort of too...the parks and resorts presentation was very awkward at times and the whole thing seemed structured oddly - like they were trying to choose their words carefully and avoid certain things. i wouldn't hold out too much hope but with the idea that they're trying to transition DHS into being essentially a Universal equivalent thematically (ride the movies instead of see the movies be made) it would seem like you need to do more than just build two lands to tie it all together.

What the what? News to me.
Probably just moving the queue or something? There were rumors of moving the entrances of Rock n Roll and Tower of terror. Maybe this is somewhat of a sign.

This guy is probably just speculating. I was just wondering if anyone heard anything about something related to this actually being on the table. I don't hear things, I just watch.

I used to work for a company in the UK and asked them about Disneyland Paris. Many thought it was too expensive and, if you're going to do Disney and spend all of that money, then you may as well do it right and head to Florida where everything is.

They saw a lot more value in traveling to Florida for 4 parks over, what sounds like, 1.5 parks in Paris. Also, USF/IOA were factors in their decision with them being just down the road.

I read up on the problems of Disneyland Paris a year or two back and, outside of them kind of competing with Florida, there were a few things that stuck out:
- employees were generally rude and unhelpful
- management has it's own share of problems.
- They made everything really ornate when they built the place but, with that ornateness, comes maintenance which they couldn't afford and then it just got worse from there.

I remember reading one of the comments on DLP, from a British person, and they basically wanted to go to Florida, not only for all of the other reasons above, but also because the people in Florida treated you like a guest instead of a pest.

I've never been to DLP so I don't have any first-hand experience.

Been to DLP twice and WDW multiple times and I would agree with this 100% and also add the weather and the cultures of the countries they are located in as major factors also.

Disney is American through and through, why see French people attempting to recreate an American Iconic Brand when you can just go to America?

Because it's a European version of the American parks? Quicker to get to? Can be done cheaper than Florida? The legacy park Es are superior? Like Tokyo it was designed to be a culturally different version of the U.S. Versions.

Anyway, to avoid a thread drift I will say some specifics for the DHS projects are becoming clearer. Nothing I can go into at the moment but give it time. I also expect more to be coming to the park.

I think all of those reasons work well if you live in America and are used to American culture.

For British people (and I would assume other non American visitors) Disney being located in the U.S. is a major part of the excitement. Disney is synonymous with America, just as McDonalds is synonymous to the hamburger.

People go to WDW for that reason over the Paris park, cost wise DLP would cost more from the UK in any case.
