I’m sorry if I’ve missed it but as far as I am aware, CFTOB has not actually imposed any illegal or punitive measure on Disney. Au contraire, to the best of my knowledge, they have actually lowered taxes in the district. That is not something a board that wants to impune Disney’s every move would do. When they raise taxes, cut services, or become unduly burdensome on the regulation front, that is when I will be convinced that they are acting outside of their interests. As far as anti woke legislation and it’s alleged economic effects (or lack thereof), that has no bearing on this topic.

Thank you for your input.

Except Light Magic, I don't think a Disney Night Parade has ever failed to draw Guests........

Now that you brought that up, the thought did cross my mind what if WDW is building a new parade… But it’s not a actual classic light parade look and something different? For example something like Nightfall Glow or Mickeys Dazzling Christmas Parade, but obviously not Christmas themed.

But is that draw really needed? At least to MK? Seems like crowds are pretty high already in the evening there due to Happily Ever After

I love night time parades, Paint the Night is my favorite parade ever, but if thinking just what would draw more people in I think that $ and effort could be better spent elsewhere

The electrical parade theme works, there is no point going the other way unless its a hybrid parade like magic happens or Mickey's Dazzling Christmas.

I agree. I personally would not like to see a hybrid parade that runs both day and night at MK, but those parades you mentioned have been successful and it would not only give MK a “nighttime parade” but also a new daytime parade. Plus only one set of floats to maintain, store and cast. It would be one of the cheaper routes for them to take.

I would be very surprised if D23 announces anything major for WDW.

For one thing, investing in Florida right now would take away some of the leverage the company has in its fight against the state. And announcing now would give the CFTOB a head start on planning how to maximally inconvenience that development.

Also, I believe WDI lacks the staff and funding right now to pull off anything big in a timeframe under 5 years.

If we hear anything about WDW, my guess is it'll be something along the lines of new restaurants or entertainment, such as something for Galaxy's Edge. Maybe a re-theme of an existing attraction. Restaurants add revenue and entertainment and re-theming are relatively straightforward and inexpensive as compared to green field development.

Let's throw in the historical precedent that nothing of note has ever been announced at Destination D23. Including that fiscally the company is not in a good place to really make major capital expenditures until likely FY 2025 (Oct 01, 24).

Now I was betting on absolutely zero announced at this thing - but Josh is not totally stupid and would not have let the panel be edited to imply there will be something, unless he has the ok to talk about something.

Like what you surmise it's going to be mostly blog fodder. Restaurants, shops, a retheme and on the most optimistic end a semi-major entertainment announcement. But most certainly not a land or a new attraction.

All that stuff is not ready to go with the current underemployment at WDI, can't be pushed by Wall Street and Florida has the legal elephant in the room. That said, I remain optimistic those barriers won't exist for actual D23 next September.

So looking over the event schedule, I find it odd that this event is throwing a Halloween themed costume bash as the last activity that Sunday evening.

Seems odd to me , as I would think most attendees in town for the weekend will leave the event and head over to Magic Kingdom for the night, since it is a MNSSHP night.

That is what I will be doing.
Mmmmm….candy…..(drools)

I also raised an eyebrow seeing a short presentation on the schedule titled ‘100 Years of Creativity: A Playful Look at Disney Imagination ‘.
Who do I know that is synonymous with the literal word ‘imagination’ and often makes an appearance at these Destination D events?
Starts with a ‘T’, if ya need a hint.
One of his friends is doing the presentation…..so…..

Anything is possible.

I'm not expecting much from this presentation, but I hope they at least give us on big announcement. If not, then I hope the Fantasy Springs segment will be much more informative. It must suck to sit in a room and see all these awesome lands being built in anywhere but WDW though. I feel like this entire presentation should have just been for WDW and not all the parks, but to each their own.

Also I hope they don't drop blue sky ideas again, concrete plans are way cooler instead of "look what we MIGHT be able to do".

I continue to be convinced we will not get anything of consequence new announced for Florida until all of the stuff with the governor is resolved. The moment they announce investment in FL they instantly lose all their leverage about harm to the company. They can still deliver on the language of the agenda with stuff coming to other parks around the globe, just not WDW. There is a lot of future stuff like new cruise ships under construction, Disneyland Paris updates, etc.. to talk about as the ‘future’
