Wow, nice surprise!

I was recently invited to attend this Destination D event thanks to a kind offer from a fellow Disney Theme Park enthusiast.
This most recent addition to the lineup has me quite pleased to now hear I will get to be a part of this Epcot gathering.

Interested to see what this will entail….
The plot thickens…!

Expectations have to be low. I think the likeliest items to get a mention are as follows:

  • Opening date of Journey of Water
  • Opening date of Figment meet and greet
  • Update on Tiana's
  • Update on CommunicoreHall
  • Update on Disney Treasure / Lighthouse Point
  • Update on EPCOT fireworks show, maybe a name
  • Details on Genie+ changes

All things that would usually get revealed in a social media post 😂😂

I am hoping the Epcot related panel happening on Saturday has some substance.
I am not at all expecting anything major being announced, but something other than Corporate ‘fluff’ and a review of what is already commonly known would be lovely.
A little unexpected surprise…

A dose of nostalgia is okay, too.
They know what us original EPCOT Center fans like….or do they..?
One does wonder sometimes.
Hint: A place that once again inspires and empowers.

But one thing is for certain -
We would like to hear more than just an update on the latest merchandise line….thanks.

Interesting…could be many things…could be little to nothing. I doubt the surprise is the new show…maybe a preview like the opening number? The fact it takes place at night is interesting.

I expect the initial reveal of the Figment meet and greet. It's simple and would make Epcot fans very happy.

They don't have enough room at WDW for a Tiana's Palace restaurant like they do at Disneyland.

Walt didn't buy enough land in 1965 to do expansions like that.

It's the fatal flaw of his Florida Project. He should have bought more land.
I know you were joking but in all seriousness, I think there’s an expansion pad by pirates. But honestly I feel like it could fit on the pathway to pirates from Adventureland to Tiana’s. Where the pirate adventure kiosk and food cart is now. But I’m not sure how far the footprint goes back with the backstage/parade start point.

The current prevailing rumor is that the Pecos Bills corner is being considered for a New Orleans makeover at some point in the future. Including turning Pecos Bills into Tiana's Palace. Whether it actually happens, and when, I don't know. Seems like Bayou Adventure will open first either way.

Spaceship Earth refurb back on? 🤞
To me, if we could update SEE and Figment, Epcot would be in great shape for a while.
I don't know if I want a SSE update. The concept art for the one they had planned most recently looks like a scenery downgrade, reduced the animatronic population (again) and relied much more heavily on projection at the expense of physical detail. Not to mention there were concerns they were attempting to shoehorn in a Moana connection. Aside from fixing the descent and giving the ride a new narration (and even the narration could easily be a downgrade from what is currently there), I don't trust them with it.

Imagination on the other hand I legitimately don't think can get any worse at this point. It is painful and unpleasant to ride and I avoid doing so. I think it's the worse dark ride they've ever built by far, both versions 2 and 3 (yes far worse even than Superstar Limo). Even shutting the ride down and leaving it empty wouldn't make me care. So they can fiddle with it, they can only really create something just as bad. But at least there's a chance it'll turn out better than it is now.
