Don't be surprised if in Phase 4 the Avengers have global outposts besides in New York, such as in Los Angeles, and Tokyo, and Shanghai, and Hong Kong, and Paris.

Good thing a Marvel Land can't be built in Orlando. Try justifying an Avenger outpost there. Although... if Phase 4 introduces Man-Thing...
Who cares about the MCU Phase 4? More like phasing out 4 the next big thing. MCU's done once Thanos's story is complete.

What's the California connection, then? Because they said it's set in California? That's dumb. It has no connection to California's history or lore.

For my own sanity I'm going to say this land exists because of all the technological progress that's been made in California, specifically with Silicon Valley, but that's not an official answer (nor is this even an official announcements) so I'm not going to accept it if someone tries to fling it back at me to defend Disney's stupidity.

Funny you mention this....

https://missionlocal.org/2014/07/iron-man-moving-to-silicon-valley/

The comics have Tony moving to Silicon Valley in the current Superior Iron Man that started in 2014.

And I wouldn't be surprised if the MCU has Tony moving to Silicon Valley also post Avengers 4.

Then what are you saying? What is 'phasing out'? It looks like you're saying Phase 4 is phasing out and that hasn't even started.
Public interest will phase out. Not only will the amount of movies being released in a single year be too much, but there'll no longer be the Thanos plot they've been working towards for 10 years. Once that's resolved, the interest will definitely go down. Yes, the MCU movies will still be raking in dough, but Avengers 4 will be their peak and it will never reach the numbers that movie makes ever again. I guarantee that.

I know you keep saying that but just because the Thanos story line comes to an end doesn't mean the MCU ends with it. Its just ends one large chapter in a very large book.

The thought is they will go from Earth-based stories to more space-based stories. With GotG and Capt. Marvel, that appears to be where they are going. So I expect Phase 4 will be introduction to more of these space-based characters.

We'll see how the public responds to it. But at this point there is no reason to think public interest will end with the end of Thanos.

Do you think the MCU will ever be able to top Avengers 4's box office? That's assuming Avengers 4's box office tops Infinity War's. Really, do you think the MCU, churning out three to four movies a year, with the book closed on a story they've been telling for ten years, and a new generation of kids growing up who are going to want their own thing to latch on to in order to form their own identify from their older siblings, will be able to keep topping itself in its box office and popularity?

If Kevin Feige stays at the helm, absolutely. Especially if Fox deal actually happens, they'll have a lot more characters to interweave into stories. Imagine an Avengers vs X-Men set of movies. That will absolutely top A4.

Setting is not theme. The land could be set in southern California and have nothing to do with southern California whatsoever. That being said, I suppose it's better than the land being set in Manhattan or something, which would be so utterly stupid. Even 2018 Disney hasn't fallen to that level of foolishness. Hopefully the land is not only set in California but has something to do with the state and its history, ideals, etc.

Agree to disagree. Only time will tell.

Agree time will tell.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I really do wish that LucasFilms had a Kevin Feige at the helm. It would go a long way into fixing some of the issues fans have with the current SW films.

This is why I think they will use a similar story like Superior Iron Man to give it more of that Silicon Valley history so its tied more to California.

If they really wanted to build a land focusing on California's technological achievements and visions, they should've just built Discovery Bay.

I don't know how a late 1800s version of San Francisco that never existed would have showed California's current technological achievements. But ok, its nice to have a dream.

Has the last year and a half not taught us that Disney doesn't care if it makes sense? If Mission Breakout didn't bring that point home, I would have thought that the Incredicoaster would.

It doesn't. It reflects the ideals and spirit of California in regards to technological progress. It'd be, y'know, a theme.

Having the entrepreneurial spirit of Tony Stark based in Silicon Valley also shows the ideals and spirit of California. This is already based in actual Marvel stories today. All we know are the broad strokes right now, so they may still show that in this Marvel Avengers California Campus.

Nah. If you want Discovery Bay go to Tokyo and DLP, its basically in those parks now. Its great in TDS but it wouldn't make sense in DCA. Marvel land is just a lot more exciting.
