But it's not big bucks. It's only $30something more than the dessert party that I would be doing anyway. Less than $35 to be signed up for JTA, save a FP, not wait 30 minutes or more for Kylo Ren..and another 30+ minutes for Chewy..AND a good spot for the stage Show. That's a bargain!

I would pay it just for the JTA spot and character meets.lol. It's not throwing money away.. I've said this repeatedly, the amount of time it could save is what is so appealing. Basically for less than $35 it would free up hours of someone's day.

I think it will be popular.
Still waiting for a review.. someone has to post one soon.

The M&G's stay open for the party guests, so you also get that perk when you do the party.

Isnt the dessert party $70? This tour is $120. Correct me if I missed something, but my math tells me its $50 more, not $30. (and thats per person, so throw a kid or two in there and your easily at $150 extra)

Your applying the price of one person in an effort to claim, "its a bargain"! And again, unless i missed something, your math is wrong, so it would actually be $100 (for 2 people) to be signed up for JTA, and get a spot for stage show and have a quick meet and greet. A person not blinded by pixie dust would most likely just arrive at rope drop and knock out the Kylo, Chewie M&G. sign up for JTA and settle for a normal spot at the (mediocre) stage show. $100 (minimum) saved! That is a bargain!

How does a 7 hour tour "free up hours of someone's day"?

I didn't look up the cost of the dessert party, so you are probably right about the price difference. My fault for repeating what I read in a similar thread as far as that.
Either way- I don't care. $120 to be guaranteed a spot in JTA without waiting for an hour, as well as the other things.. are completely worth it to me, I wish it would have been available last month, I hope it sticks around, and I see this being popular. Like I said, I am curious to know the logistics of the tour and hope someone posts about it soon.

As for the rest of your comment,
Your example of "go at rope drop, meet the characters, then sign up for JTA" is not possible. You have to be in line right away. If you don't want to wait in line - you arrive at 8am. Which is what most people I know do.
But guess what? They're still waiting. They definitely have the advantage of show times, and they don't stand in a long line once they get in, but they stood outside of the park for an hour to do so.

So if the difference is $50, then yes $50pp is worth an hour of my day, the ability to not have a midday showtime which cuts into your other activities, and not being rushed to get to the park in the first place. The cool thing is- you're getting a lot more than that with the $50.

So spending 7 hours on a tour saves you the 1 hour waiting to sign up for JTA? Huh?

I know this has all been brought up but how do these things take 7 hours? Looks more like 3 max to me:

The seven-hour tour includes:
  • A Star Wars “all-in-the-know” tour guide
  • Priority boarding for Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
  • Encounter two Star Wars characters (Chewbacca and Kylo Ren) at Star Wars Launch Bay
  • An in-depth, insider’s tour around Star Wars Launch Bay
  • Screening of “Star Wars: Path of the Jedi”
  • Enjoy Star Wars-themed menu items during dinner at Backlot Express
  • A spot in the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party, which includes themed sweets and specialty beverages, as well as reserved viewing for the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular fireworks show
Give me something that makes it worth it like, say, backstage tour of Star Tours. Show us the staging area for March of the First Order. Put us in the march as a "prisoner." Show us plans and models for what SW Land will look like.

Oh I didn't know that. It happens during the party? That's a nice feature. Do they have any roaming characters?
So spending 7 hours on a tour saves you the 1 hour waiting to sign up for JTA? Huh?

When's the last time you did Jedi training sign ups? What time did you arrive to the park? How long did you wait?

I admit that JTA is my most stressful event at WDW. I was devastated when we missed the line cutoff in 2015..and I was worried about the same thing happening again this year. I do wish they had a small coffee stand near the queue..that would have made the 70 minutes a lot better.lol

Anyway, you may want to scroll up and read my break down again. It saves time waiting for characters, the show, and Star Tours without a FP. I don't think that you're realizing the dessert party, lunch, and shows are most likely figured in to that 7 hours.

I did a guesstimate breakdown on the previous page.. it's definitely more than 3 hours, but there still has to be a little more to the story. Why hasn't anyone given feedback yet?!

Well, it's on Mondays and Saturdays, meaning the only tour so far was Monday, January 2. The next one is tomorrow. I know it's hard to believe but it is possible no one on this forum took the tour on Monday. There could be another report out there somewhere.

I did a quick online search, and I haven't found anything yet, which is weird. Just announcements of the tour itself.

So is Early Morning Magic still being offered on Saturdays as well?

Not as far as I can tell. I just check the Disney site and all I found was "Disney After Hours" for certain days January - March in MK.
That's interesting. Maybe the tour was a replacement for HS EMM. Close enough price points, but I'm wondering if guest feedback indicated a want for more of a SW experience.
I have no idea though..just guessing.

I'm anxious to hear reports on it as well. It sure doesn't sound like enough exclusive activities to justify the price to me. But to each his own. It will probably sell out. Then I'm not a fan of park tours anyway. It takes up too much of the day and takes away too many chances for spontaneity. We were on a tour once and saw some rare characters meeting that we had never met before. The tour guide made us keep going because there wasn't time to stop.

I can see this going a few ways
  1. It's a huge hit and sells out every Monday and Saturday
  2. It does moderately well, but the time commitment is reduced from 7 to 5 hours, and then 5 to 4 at a later date
  3. They make it Mondays only
  4. Attendance is poor due to the price, so Disney reduces it, and then tries to give it away to DVC members.

I do think it would be cool to have your own personal Star Wars Geek in Launch Bay with you. Even with JTA I had to google who the woman was. Seventh Sister, I've never heard of her before.

Well, IMO FP+ sucked out all of the spontaneity! Still, can't imagine losing 7 hours of park time on this tour. I wonder if anyone took the tour on the 2nd.

If you have a 2:10 JTA show, check in at 1:45 or something, sign ups in the morning, FP for Star Tours at a certain time, and a dessert party check in time..you're already losing a ton of spontaneity.
You also can't check Chewy and Kylo Ren wait times on the app..so you're kind of stuck with what's going on right then, unless you leave and go somewhere else. We split them up. Chewy early in the day and then Kylo Ren around 5ish.

I know there isn't a review on this site, but I've looked on others (including the Site that shall not be named), and there's nothing. Nada. Zip. The Tiana dessert party had reviews. This 7 hour tour, that takes up over half of a park day, has nothing. I don't get it.

Yes, when we did it there were Stormtroopers and Jawas.
You just made me even more sad that we missed it! JBJB dessert party was fun, but SW would be incredible I'm sure. If it's still going on in September I'm hoping to go..I'll forever have to keep it a secret from my kid though.lol, he's not going to WDW parks in 2017... Unless I decide to actually fit in HS while we're staying pre cruise. I'm trying to stay strong and avoid the parks those 2 days!
