So you are saying that the only people interested in this tour are paying a minimum of $258( adult +kid) and wasting 7 hours of their park time so that their child can participate in Jedi Training Academy? Really?

And a lot of groups would have 2 adults with the child, or 2 adults and 2 kids, so the cost would be even higher.

It's been mentioned in articles about what's new in 2017 at Disney, so it's not like this is something hidden. I'm just a little surprised that Disney hasn't gotten a blogger or two to do the tour and write about it.

Just because it's been mentioned, doesn't mean it will survive. I also don't think Disney would invite a blogger if he/she was the only guest on the tour, which is a distinct possibility for this Turkey of a Tour

I know there isn't a review on this site, but I've looked on others (including the Site that shall not be named), and there's nothing. Nada. Zip. The Tiana dessert party had reviews. This 7 hour tour, that takes up over half of a park day, has nothing. I don't get it.

I think it's a variety of factors, not the least of which is it takes up 7 hours of your day. We can debate whether it's worth the 7 hours but it's still 7 hours. The average guest only has so many days to visit the parks. What if you could only devote 1 day to each park? That's valuable time to miss TSMM, ToT, RnRC, Indy, and GMR, for example.

Second, is what you get for the 7 hours, all of which can be done separately already where guests can pick and choose what they want to do without a tour. Other than a spot to watch the fireworks in the evening, what are you really getting for this tour?

You keep forgetting that the people doing the tour are most likely people who would have done the dessert part anyway. That's more than half of the price. The tour starts at 1pm. You don't need to worry about being at the park before it opens. You could get there at 9:00, 9:30, 10 and still be able to knock out a lot of the the other attractions first, you use your 3 FPs, see a show or 2...and then do everything Star Wars from 1pm on. Dessert party check in is at 6:45 pm I'm assuming. That's a full day where you could accomplish pretty much everything that you want to. Like I said, I was there open to close and couldn't do everything on that list while still being able to do other attractions- and my day was not a 6-7-8-9-10 crowd level. Had I arrived 5 minutes later JTA would have been closed off, just as it was last year.

It's not going to attract everyone. It will attract a segment of the dessert party/JTA/Star Wars fan crowd. Especially those who still want to enjoy the rest of what the park has to offer.

The people who are doing JTA already have either an hour standing outside the park before it opens, waiting. Or- an hour or more waiting inside the park. Then another hour for check in and the show at whatever time they were given. This tour gets rid of half of that waiting, and takes the stress out of arriving to the park before the line gets closed.

Other than a guaranteed spot for the JTA, nada.
I know there's an argument that DHS doesn't have anything worth seeing, but it really does. I'm spending a half day there in November (the morning will be spent at Animal Kingdom), but I already have a decent list of things I want to do:
  • Tower of Terror
  • Aerosmith
  • Great Movie Ride
  • Star Tours
  • Toy Story Mania
  • Indy Stunt show
  • Fantasmic
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • Frozen
  • Muppets
Of the things on my list, I haven't done 4 of them, 2 (Frozen & TSM) because they didn't exist on my last trip, and 2 (TOT & RnRC) that I was too scared to try on previous trips. Yes, I wish there was more to do, but 9/10 things listed have nothing to do with Star Wars (and I love Star Wars, but there's no way I'm paying for that tour). There is plenty to still fill time with at DHS. And if it turns out that I have to ride the GMR, or ToT, or TSM, or Aerosmith multiple times to fill time, so be it. I won't be complaining.

You wouldn't be able to do all of that and all of the Star Wars stuff. There isn't enough time in the day- not if you are doing JTA. There just isn't. You also can't see fantasmic and the Star Wars fireworks. So this tour would definitely be useless for you.

I guess you have to be a hard core visitor who has done all of these things previously. I mean I did KTTK but I didn't do it until a year or more after I had visited WDW doing all the "on stage" attractions, etc. I would also do the 7 hour Backstage Magic tour for more because its, well, backstage. All of the things on this tour can be done separately without a tour. So I just don't see the value in taking this one.

The thing people need to realize is just because you don't see value in something doesn't mean it isn't useful for others.

Anyone like me, who just recently went to DHS, and did a dessert party and JTA..had the SW attractions as a priority as well as ToT, RnRC, Frozen, Show, Toy Story, GMR, Muppets, Indiana Jones.. and wasn't able to do half of it. In an entire day, people like that will take the tour. It will allow us to fit it in.

If your interest is Fantasmic and not SW then it's not the tour you're looking for, and don't be concerned with it.

If you don't do JTA, the tour may or may not be attractive. I you do JTA and just waited 70 minutes to sign up- the tour is a lot more attractive.

Early Morning Magic is selling out. That's $70 for an hour of park time with 3 rides and a breakfast. This is less than that when you factor in the dessert party price- and you're getting even more than what you get with EMM, it's different, you won't be able to ride things back to back. But the price point is lower and the ability for freeing up time from waiting in lines is the similar to EMM. Both good options for someone to have.

I'm planning on doing the Behind the Seeds tour this fall, and that's my first upcharge (that I've had to pay for- got to go to an Epcot tea party with Alice in Wonderland characters once because another family cancelled). It's relatively inexpensive, and it's informative. I'm looking forward to it. Sure, it's stuff that is touched upon in Living with the Land, but it goes deeper, and I think the price is worth the tour. The Star Wars tour- not so much (granted, I'm not someone who has children, so JTA doesn't really matter to me, and I think dessert parties are overpriced).

I agree. Start small. Yeah, it's like $15. Other good tours are KTTK, UnDISCOVERed Future World, and Wild Africa Trek.

Lol. Ok so definitely for you this would be a waste of money. Behind the Seeds would be a waste of money for my family, that's why Disney gives us several options. That way we can all find something that appeals to us. :)

The question is: will there be enough people, like you, who find value in it. I'm glad you want to do it. Hope you like it. I'm just not sure it will get enough numbers to justify keeping it around very long.

I've heard great things about this tour. I think the best indicator is that it's been around for years.

You keep saying the same thing. Yes, we know you find value in this. Just like you find "value" in almost every single up charge Disney offers. But I think you are in the minority on this particular tour.
Because apparently the people who are bashing this and would like to see it fail are people who don't even have children and aren't doing JTA anyway.

Why not just Live and Let Live. Some upcharges will appeal to some people, others won't. No need to wish for something to fail just bc it doesn't fit your wants.
