I am really tired of Disney promoting these separately priced parties and tours. It's getting out of hand. I just took my son to Disney World and we did everything included in this list and didn't have to pay anything for it!
  • A Star Wars “all-in-the-know” tour guide (I doubt it's more than what we know is to come to Star Wars Land)
  • Priority boarding for Star Tours – The Adventures Continue (AKA FastPass)
  • Encounter two Star Wars characters (Chewbacca and Kylo Ren) at Star Wars Launch Bay (Available to everyone)
  • An in-depth, insider’s tour around Star Wars Launch Bay (Everything in there has plaques to read)
  • Screening of “Star Wars: Path of the Jedi” (Available to everyone)
  • Enjoy Star Wars-themed menu items during dinner at Backlot Express (Available to everyone)
  • A spot in the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party, which includes themed sweets and specialty beverages, as well as reserved viewing for the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular fireworks show (Fireworks show is available to everyone....dessert party is already available for additional price, but is it really worth it?)
Again, you can do all this without paying $129/person. I just miss the days when your park admission included EVERYTHING that was happening in the park that day. Including all shows, parades, and for full open-close park hours. I don't like the limitations these special events put on the regular park admission ticket holders and really don't love how much money they are asking guests to pay to enjoy what I think should be included.

You're lucky then. Our day was crowded and between JTA and JBJB dessert party we missed a lot. Didn't even have time to do all of Launch Bay. This tour would have been perfect if offered then.
I understand that everything is offered for free. All I said was that there is an audience for it, but would I spend money to go on this tour? No. Furthermore, it doesn't bother me at all that you called it a money grab, and I actually agree with you. I stated in my other post that it is a money grab. But if they aren't taking anything away from you, then why does it bother you so much?

It could save people like me a ton of time, and allow us to do "everything".

A test of this tour was underway yesterday.
Do you know how it is doing sales wise? I would think a lot of people who were doing JTA and the SW dessert party would choose this option. The JTA part alone can save a minimum of an hour out of your day...then add the characters and show spots, I'm thinking another hour to 2 right there.

Because you have a distorted view of who Star Wars fans are .
Gotta give Disney credit to for bringing in more female fans as well. These last 2 films have had some bad ash lead characters. Keeping the SW fantastic base in tact, expending it to even more of a radius than before.

I love that there are non princess female characters for girls to admire and dress up as now. Even my boy likes Ray and Jyn and has their minifigures and Ray's vehicle. He doesn't have or want any Princess Sophia toys.

Bravo Disney.

Keep in mind this is coming from a Disney nerd who has experienced Keys to the Kingdom (twice), and Undiscovered Future World (twice).

With no additional offerings other than what can already be experienced for free, I have to think that the target audience is tourist who do not do their research and think they are getting some kind of special Star Wars experience that is not provided to other guest. This does not make me angry as it will not hinder or enhance my experience of the parks, but if this is not classified a cash grab, I do not know what else would be. Just my opinion.

There's nothing "behind the scenes" here. For 7 hours, I would rather do Behind the Magic. I realize it costs more but I think I would get something of value in this tour in multiple parks.

I can just see the tour guide spiel now.

9 AM: "So this is Star Tours..."
9.15 AM: "So this is the Launch Bay." (looks at watch). "Erm... erm... see you in six hours!"
While there is no way I'm doing this when I go, I can't help but be curious as to how they filled the time. How many times did kids get to fight Darth Vader, and how many times did they ride Star Tours?

I'm extremely curious about the timeline too.
I definitely don't think they would do JTA more than once, there just isn't time.
I'm trying to figure out the 7 hours..here's my estimates and questions-

JTA- What time does the "tour" do the show? Time frame- 1 hour.?

Launch Bay and M&Gs- 2 hours?

Stage Show- 30 minutes?

March- 25minutes?

Lunch- 45mins?

Star Tours- 30 minutes?

Desert party and show- 1.5 hours?

They must do other things..I want to know what they are.

I would do this tour no matter what.. just give me JTA, Star Tours, viewing for the stage show, Kylo & Chewy, and the dessert party. I'd pay for that and then hope to do my own thing at some point.

Don't forget, you, as a Star Wars freak who would pay big bucks for this seven hour tour get to also see a clip-show of the SW saga so that you can learn what a Jedi is...

They need to throw in make your own saber and make your own droid.

But it's not big bucks. It's only $30something more than the dessert party that I would be doing anyway. Less than $35 to be signed up for JTA, save a FP, not wait 30 minutes or more for Kylo Ren..and another 30+ minutes for Chewy..AND a good spot for the stage Show. That's a bargain!

I would pay it just for the JTA spot and character meets.lol. It's not throwing money away.. I've said this repeatedly, the amount of time it could save is what is so appealing. Basically for less than $35 it would free up hours of someone's day.

I think it will be popular.
Still waiting for a review.. someone has to post one soon.

But the stage show sucks. Unless you mean the projection show.

Isnt the dessert party $70? This tour is $120. Correct me if I missed something, but my math tells me its $50 more, not $30. (and thats per person, so throw a kid or two in there and your easily at $150 extra)

Your applying the price of one person in an effort to claim, "its a bargain"! And again, unless i missed something, your math is wrong, so it would actually be $100 (for 2 people) to be signed up for JTA, and get a spot for stage show and have a quick meet and greet. A person not blinded by pixie dust would most likely just arrive at rope drop and knock out the Kylo, Chewie M&G. sign up for JTA and settle for a normal spot at the (mediocre) stage show. $100 (minimum) saved! That is a bargain!

How does a 7 hour tour "free up hours of someone's day"?

It's "Disney math". ;)
