Again, I wasn't necessarily talking about anyone specific except 74 and con. Feeling defensive?
ZOMG!!!!

*shields to full*
:lookaroun
In other news...I'm going to eat!

Me too. In fact, he's the one who mentioned it.
But if JT prefers, I'll make up a more exciting story:
We had just disbanded from our weekly doom and gloom web cam meeting led by '74 and Conundrum where we discussed this thread, the order of our posting, and what we would post. At the end of the meeting we all put pins in our individual Iger VooDoo dolls and said our club creed!
Hmm, maybe you should get your dates right before posting. 2012 is not 2014. Just saying.
Not too mention your link states that the MI coaster would be opening in 2011. They might want to get started on it, if that is indeed the case. Oh, and 2011.....is two years away.
Which is Kungaloosh.
Don't forget the part where we bow before the EPCOT Symbol....
You did quote him, afterall...
Monsters 2 won't hapen before 2013. Star Wars looks like 2011. I'm sticking with those dates until real proof otherwise.

I quoted everyone in the first minutes of the thread. I explained that. New shoes too tight?
Don't you dare try to cover your tracks. You were there, and you sent cookies!
And what is real proof? A Blog?
FACT: Blogs are teh #1 source for real, factual information according to Wikipedia.
Now, I unfortunately have real life matters to attend to. Carry on fellow doom and gloomers. *secret handshake*
Fair enough. In that case, then, you really shouldn't say it will be released in 2012 or 2013. Makes for a confusing post.
So I take it you are suggesting that the MI coaster will still be slated for a fall 2011 opening? And if that is the case, don't you think some work would get underway fairly soon? Not being a WDI insider, I have no idea how long it might take to get the MI coaster up and running, I'm just curious as to your opinion on the matter.
Any idea how much Crush's Coaster cost at DLP? Personally, I think $50 million would be a little too extravagant, but this is WDI we're talking about.
Why does everyone seem to think that Star Wars is the savior or this end all be all? Adults, Kids, Men and women enjoy the Potter books. Star Wars is almost strictly a male enjoyed genre. I don't know a single girl that likes Star Wars and in fact most of them have never seen them and thats the one movie they refuse to even give a chance. I dont know any 50+ year old adults that are DIE HARD fans either. None of them would even choose to watch it on TV if they were channel surfing and it was on. Star Wars is popular to a very limited fan base ( men aged 25-40 ), granted those fans are all die hards, but thats about it. In my opinion a Monsters Inc Coaster has way more general appeal and would bring in more guests than Star Tours 2.0 ever would.

Just my opinion, but I think the trend is to have the new "franchise" attractions open months before the movie. So, my guess is Star Tours 2 could be summer of 2011 and the MI coaster slated for spring 2013 if the movie is opening that summer. The PatF characters are debuting before the movie in the parks and I think the desire is to have these type franchises debut throughout all the Disney realms. Park attractions, movie, TV specials, merchandise, music, companion books etc etc etc.

I don't know why so many are treating this like a "battle of the experts." WDW1974 says Monsters Inc Coaster isn't coming. WDW Insider says things are coming soon, but he/she won't comment on the Coaster. Where is the contradiction?
To me, Insider (if he actually is an insider) confirms what 74 says by omission. Were 74 actually wrong, why would the purported insider not correct him (unless he simply didn't know, but it seems a WDW Media Plant would be omniscient)?
Honestly, too many of you treat this like your own little ing match whenever 74 posts something. "Well, Monsters Inc may not be coming...OH YEAH, but ____ is coming!" It would also be nice to see some folks use logic and basic deductive reasoning in their posts rather than just assert that management's plan is X. I'm speaking to those of you who have admitted no inside connections, so elaboration certainly can't sour a source.
Oh, and before anyone asks, this doesn't affect hat removal at all. Like I said, it's coming down prior to 2012, just a question of when. I have a strong feeling it will coincide with the opening of Star Tours 2.0 and -- likely -- a new or relocated parade debutting.
