For those that do not own gaming systems and hardly know, or care, what fortnight is lol, how would one view this? 🙄
There will certainly be someone streaming the Fortnite presentation, but it can also be played for free through a game streaming service like GeForce Now on any computer with decent internet access.

People will pay to go if there's a live stream. It's about the experience of being there. being in the moment.

My local hockey team, the Chicago Blackhawks, did not televise their home games for a LONG time under the idea that if they are on TV, no one will go to the game. So what happened? An entire generation of fans who never cared about the Blackhawks because they couldn't watch them. Owner died. His kids put the team back on TV. They win 3 Stanley Cups. 🤷🏻
Not this year :p

They aren't live streaming any of it to the public. The Fortnite stream is delayed by 90 minutes.

Some streaming news?

Celebrate the magic of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event! This year includes Fortnite | Disney reveals live from the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase, streaming exclusively in Fortnite. Jump into Disney Horizons Live from D23 on August 10 to catch new Fortnite reveals presented live from Josh D'Amaro and a few special guests.

Disney Horizons Live from D23 will be accessible starting on August 10 at 7:30 PM PT / 10:30 PM ET, and the stream will begin shortly after at 8:30 PM PT / 11:30 PM ET. You’ll be able to join the island from the Homebar in Discover (the top row) or by using island code 7908-6413-2516.

There are at least 6 references to "live" or "livestreamed" in this announcement. Maybe I am wrong, but it sounds like the panel will go long. Park and experiences will go first. Then at 10:30 it will switch to games and that's when they will live stream it.

Here’s how the Travis Scott concert went down too

That one was one of their first attempts to have an in-game event and it was randomly part of the battle royale game, so it was a mess. It's been 4 years, so hopefully they've nailed it down. It's been a while since I've played, so I'm not too sure how it works these days

What were your main issues with 2022?
Ultimately it was just a lot of stress and hassle to get into the parks panel (and it seems that has only gotten worse this year). Even though it was cool being able to be "in the room" and get my novelty trinkets and whatnot I ultimately walked away thinking the livestream would've given me a similar if not better experience without all the stress and money. I really only attended D23 in general to go to the panel, so that may be part of it.

My sister and I have been discussing what time we will arrive at the convention center in the morning. One of us is going to check out how things are going at 5 am and base it off that. We don’t need to worry about standby for the first panel we want to attend since we both received a reservation for it. It just seems so different from 2022 and having to worry about getting into the queue for the main panels early in the morning.

The announcement of the Fortnite delayed stream says that it will cover announcements from Fortnite AND Disney. Seems to suggest it will be the entire thing, but delayed by 90 minutes.
You know, all this Fortnite talk has me thinking... what do we think the extent of Disney's deal with Epic Games is? Is Disney still trying to make a metaverse-type thing happen with a virtual park and stuff? They are combining their parks panel with Fortnite news, which is strange when you think about it unless that's the direction they're going in. That's kinda the vibe I'm getting, and I'm concerned that they're going to be pumping billions into a video game instead of their actual real parks. It's definitely much easier to build and change a digital park than it is a real one, that's for sure...

HAHHAHHAHHAAHAH.

What a stupid move, Disney what are you doing? Seriously, though this is incredibly stupid, do they know what they are doing? Their audience is parks fans like us on the boards not Fortnite kids.

So, who here is gonna play Fortnite because of this?
Isn’t the reasonable and obvious assumption that the Fortnite live stream is about Fortnite? Not about the parks?
