I’ll be shocked if people aren’t in the convention center prior to 9 AM. I know it is different this year, but I can see them opening security before 9 AM and letting people queue in Hall E.

“For the health and safety of all guests, overnight queuing is not available for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. Additional entry instructions for the Anaheim Convention Center, including entry queue start times, will be provided in the weeks leading up to the event”.

Wonder what time they will allow us to line up. Convention opens at 9.
If folks show up early to queue up, what are they going to do? Have police forcibly remove them?

If you show up at dawn, is that OK but 30 minutes before dawn, no good?

If you are homeless and happen to be camping there, will the homeless be forcibly removed by police?

Why does Disney have to take the fun out of everything?

A few more details have since been released on queuing times:

Also, for the health and safety of all guests, overnight queuing is not available for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. Event entrances will open at 5 a.m. No queuing is permitted prior to 4:30 a.m. Follow signs and event staff directions for entry to the Show Floor, World of Disney: The Product Experience, and event stages. If arriving before show opening to just after show opening, guests will be directed to a queue to enter the venue.

Virtual Queue opening times:

Virtual queues allow for guests to wait virtually so they can go enjoy other activities and experiences. Virtual queues will be available at the D23 Marketplace, Disney Studio Store Hollywood (Friday and Saturday only), Mickey's of Glendale (Friday only), Mickey's of Glendale Pin Store, The Walt Disney Company Store, and The Walt Disney Company Pin Store. Virtual queue will be required to shop at these locations starting when the event opens at 9 a.m. each day. Virtual queue opportunities will be available at 4 a.m. and 1 p.m. each day on the Disneyland app through the Disney D23 App. Fans may sign up for a “boarding group” for themselves and one (1) guest with virtual queue and receive a notification when it’s their turn to shop. Joining the virtual queue does not grant immediate access to any experience, and there may still be a queue and waiting period at the location. The virtual queue is limited in capacity and subject to availability. Stand-by queues will not be available in the mornings, but stand-by opportunities may be available later in the afternoon each day if all virtual queue boarding groups have been recalled. All merchandise is subject to availability and inventory may sell out. The number of items per purchase will be limited. Traditional queuing is available at locations not utilizing virtual queue. Please note that virtual queues are separate from reservations, which are provided via a random selection process ahead of the event.

That is a very good point. I’ve never been and trying to line up early for an item. Just trying to get advice.

They say this every year, but the line ups still start regardless. Should be interesting because I think the bulk of the queue will be for merch not in the main halls.

I know what you are after and I'll just say I picked up the promo card *after* I had been in a Hall D23 morning panel. Shockingly easily I must add. So don't feel too stressed! :)

So everyone agrees, 4am is crazy right?!? Poor people attending 😭

I previously physically was rolling into the convention around then, so this year is literally a dream. :D

Though I don't particularly care about merch... so probably not waking up on my end of things.

I'm just pumped my entire day no longer centres around the keynotes and I can enjoy the convention.

Thanks! I’m hoping I can pull this off as an avid player and collector. I’ve even toyed with the idea of sending a “B” team over to Downtown Disney, if I have someone not going to the convention. The main target is the con though.
