I'm also anxiously awaiting more info on the other panels and events. I seem to recall in the past, we started getting info about a month out, so hopefully it will be soon!
They seem to be really taking their time with the news this year. I think last time the app went up 30 days before the event with (I assume) the full schedule. By now though we should have at least gotten panel reservations.

Was wondering if I could get help with this…my badge shipped but I transferred them beforehand. Will the person who I transferred to have any issues after I give them the physical badge?

Got my badges today! Dang, no wonder the price increases every year: the badges keep getting fancier! I remember in 2017 they were just printed on cardstock lol.

Along with the badges was a letter with some information on it. They state that there will be no overnight queuing allowed. But I feel like they say that every year and people still do it.

Most notably is what was already posted: On July 15th, you "will have the opportunity to participate in a random selection process...to make reservations for themselves and up to seven people."
A few things about this: One, it's unclear as to whether it will be a lottery system in which you sign up for the panels you want and then they randomly select who will get in later; or if they mean you will be given a random place in line and when it's your turn you can select from the panels still available.
Second, seven people? That seems excessive. If one person can sign up seven people, seats are going to go pretty darn fast.
Also, seriously, we're doing this on a weekday again? I'm going to have to once again pray my turn comes up when I'm not in the middle of watching all my students. -_-

It sounds like I'm being a complainer, but I really am super excited! Only a little over a month to go!

In the TCG world, we call it foiling!

This is the first time I've seen a "foiled" badge. Been going to NYCC for many years, first D23 attendee here.

I think they will be using the “lottery” system for the panels since they are using the random selection process again like they did in 2022. I went back and looked at the wording for 2022 and it seems very similar. The only difference is that the Honda Center panels are already taken care of.

In other news, one month today, we will be on the plane heading to CA!

Sorry, im behind with D23. International visitors still have to collect passes from Roll Call don't they? If im going on the Sunday, is it possible I could go and collect them on Saturday?

Yes, affirmed. Done so all the other years. Saturday will be beautifully quiet for you to do so.

It is a random selection process.

Functionally what they will do is give you likely one panel per day to be able to select. Including signings or giveaway or some other stuff. You will rank the things you are interested in, in order. Somewhere between your top 3-5 for each day.

This will not be a thing you need to immediately queue up to do, but there should be a window to go online and select these preferences.

After the window closes, you'll be assigned based on your preferences when your lottery ticket was pulled (under the hood). The algorithm runs through and assigns everyone in order that they were pulled based on their preference. In essence.

Functionally, it's basically the same thing as queuing and seeing what is left. But I kind of prefer it since it's one entry per badge. Also, I prefer it because they gave me all three major keynotes last time and I put in no effort. ;)

The badges that we got are only for the Convention Center right? I still don't know how we are going to get into the Honda Center.

Will it actually be? I envision Saturday being the busiest day

The number of international guests picking up tickets is minuscule. The number of international guests not on a 3 day ticket is even less.

The will call pickup location is separated from the convention main entrance. It’s always the most pleasant experience of the convention for me, I’m basically the only one in a cavernous ticketing hall.
