Do you think they’ll announce another park in South America? Brazil is the 7th most populous country in the world, has a burgeoning middle class, a largely untapped consumer base. This satellite event in São Paulo might be such an announcement.

As a DVC member, I completely agree! I’m just saying, hey, they dumped a ton of money into that Shanghai park because it was an untapped consumer base and they knew there would be return on investment in a new park. They had much more to gain by a new park in China than in a new park in WDW. I often wonder if Disney’s consulting firms and their feasibility studies show that there simply isn’t enough remaining market to tap into to support that investment. Same criticism Universal is getting regarding their new park… no new market to tap into, Epic Universe will just siphon from the visitors who already visit Orlando, not increase the volume.

What do you mean, untapped? They all seem to have no issue getting to orlando :hilarious:

Joking aside, I find it hard to believe that disney would be willing to spend building anything in Brazil at this moment, when they are refusing to do anything to their flagship even with EU looming in the horizon

At most I could see them maybe building a beach resort in the northeast or something, as destination of a cruise or something. But I doubt even that

Will this just be more “we have thought about this” and “we could maybe do this” blue sky plans or do we think they will actually commit to something? The last two years have been so disappointing.

IMO it makes sense for Universal to do it. Adding a 3rd park makes them 4-5 night stay. Their hope is it takes away from Disney.

It’s getting harder and harder for them to not announce things. Plus they now have that capital expenditure budget they are going to use, if they start building soon it won’t be ready till about when they say the budget will start to be used.

Re: Brazil Pavilion

Remember folks, unless Disney is making a very drastic change in policy, Disney will not build a national pavilion without the nation or one of its corporate or NGO organizations footing the bill. The rumored Brazil pavilion didn't happen because its sponsor pulled out.

So, if a Brazil pavilion is back on the table, it's because some corporation is sponsoring it.

This could be a Disney+ push.

Or a push to get more Brazil tours back on the table.

Or maybe a Disneyland Brazil!!!

The *ultimate* Disney fan event?! So, there won't be any more ever, it's the last one?!

Oh, I guess not.
Maybe english isn't your first language, but "ultimate" is most used in the meaning of "best" or "most extreme". So they're not claiming it's the last disney fan event, just that it's the best disney fan event.

There's no contradiction in their announcement
