Ok, since this has been talked about in a bunch of different threads, I figured I'd centralize the discussion in one place...

So, what can we expect to be announced as far as attraction/expansion news at D23? Discuss away!

My guess is that we will get a green light for the Fantasyland Expansion and for Star Tours 2. Maybe a surprise announcement will be thrown in for good measure, such as JTTCOTE at AK or a new E-ticket at Epcot.

If anything is announced at D23, I think it will be....

1. Fantasyland Rehab
2. Star Tours
3. Monsters Inc. Coaster(although I havent heard much about it)

Im not sure if an E-Ticket is going to be announced for Epcot. But I guess there is still a chance that something like MI is announced for AK. Just a chance.

One of the following:

Fantasyland Extension
New E-Ticket/Land for Animal Kingdom
Imagination 4.0
Pixar Place Expansion
Star Tours 2.0
Sorcerer's Hat Officially Removed
Confirmed New World Showcase Pavilion

But something tells me not all of them...

I would love for a Imagination 4.0 and a new WS Pavilion. I hope one of those happens but most likely not :(. Most likely what will happen is either Fantasyland expansion or Star Tours 2.0.

But why would this be done at D23 :)rolleyes::lookaroun)....Isn't Oct 1 the usual day for announcements and fanfare?

I'll be there on Thursday and Friday so hopefully either a big announcement one of those days or maybe get to meet some of the cast of Lost !

It will be announced that thanks to the exemplary work WDW does, we will instead receive a golden prize sticker, a Bed Bath & Beyond Bath Lotion giftset (They only got one, you'll have to share), and a $15 Gift Certificate for Ladies' Foot Locker.

Let me speculate.

Star Tours- This would be a great announcement but would be better suited for the Star Wars panel. It would get many SW fans to head there on opening day. It will also cause a bigger ruckus.

Monsters Inc. Coaster- I have a strange feeling this won't be announced. I think Disney will save it for a later time.

Fantasyland Expansion- I think Disney might mention a few of Fantasyland's upcoming attractions.

DAK Land- 50/50 chance of this. Probably ot going to happen now or anytime soon.

Imagination- Same with Monsters coaster, probably will be announced later in the year, maybe April or one of those dates.

Here's something else they may announce. I just remembered that there was a lot of talk about Disney's Animation Inn replacing the old Legendary Years of POP a while back.

Here's my take on each of these:

Fantasyland Extension: This I'd say is the most likely announcement, especially since the public knows what the plans are, or were, because of the leak. Hopefully those plans will become official and maybe we'll hear about a MK version of Blue Sky and a timetable for the expansion.

New E-Ticket/Land for Animal Kingdom: At E3 expos (aka Electronic Entertainment Expo), game publishers often throw in that surprise announcement that leave everyone talking at the end. This could be that announcement for D23.

Imagination 4.0: I think this will be announced soon, mostly because that pavilion is pretty much deserted most of the time. It needs to happen, and D23 would be a good place to reveal the plans.

Pixar Place Expansion: I think this may be a ways off. I think it will happen, but DHS has already gotten two new attractions in 2 years. I'd say a more likely DHS announcement would be a replacement for Sounds Dangerous.

Star Tours 2.0: Comic-Con would have been a good place to announce this, but D23 would work well too. Everyone knows this exists, it's just a matter of time as far as when it will become official.

Sorcerer's Hat Officially Removed:This doesn't even need a national announcement. Just remove the hat and be done with it!

Confirmed New World Showcase Pavilion: Hmm, I'd say this is the least likely announcement, especially since there really hasn't been anything brewing on that front for a long time, but I'd love to be proven wrong...

hmm I can see Star Tours 2 being the biggest possibility, since Disney seems to love the whole One-Disney thing, kick 3 parks in to one, DL, TDL, and DHS. With DCA across the street I can see some more info on the DCA expansion.

Of course, it's difficult to see what happens in Imagineering. I am hoping Disney will have something special up their sleeves. Of course, they'll attempt to cover up the "real" reasons we know and place it with something else more special, like "we feel the need to see Dreamfinder rightfully restored" or "we should expand what has become important necessities to our Guests".:lol:

Sorcerer's Hat Officially Removed:This doesn't even need a national announcement. Just remove the hat and be done with it!
With Disney, everything is an announcement.
