D23 Expo FL Announcements? Let the Speculation Begin!

The Conundrum

I am willing to bet there will be no wdw attraction announcements this Fall

Too many people are still coming to WDW so there is really no reason pump money into the parks and its like jt said HP was just a fad the new e-ticket and the land it sits in will not lay a dent in WDW's stale kingdom.

The sheriff will decide when it is the appropriate time to invest in WDW. After all, he has a phd in Business so who are we to question his/her infinite wisdom?

Let me speculate.

Star Tours- This would be a great announcement but would be better suited for the Star Wars panel. It would get many SW fans to head there on opening day. It will also cause a bigger ruckus.

Monsters Inc. Coaster- I have a strange feeling this won't be announced. I think Disney will save it for a later time.

Fantasyland Expansion- I think Disney might mention a few of Fantasyland's upcoming attractions.

DAK Land- 50/50 chance of this. Probably ot going to happen now or anytime soon.

Imagination- Same with Monsters coaster, probably will be announced later in the year, maybe April or one of those dates.

Star Tours and Monsters Inc. Coaster are the two most likely, in my opinion. Fantasyland Expansion is #3. I HIGHLY doubt a DAK Land or Imagination overhaul will be announced.

I don't mind you challanging my ideas but making things up goes over the line.

Disney will be investing in the parks as needed to fill it's resorts at non-discounted rates. That will be what drives the future development of WDW, not that little concern just up I-4. Uni/SW is just a secondary issue.

Disney overreacted to the original IOA. I would bet they will never make that mistake again.

I'm starting to believe that you believe Potter is going to put Disney out of business. It's almost troubling to try to think the way you think.

Potter will give a little boost to attendance at Universal for a while. I'm convinced Fantasyland will happen, it will not be open by Potter's opening. Universal will have their ounce of glory for a while until the expansion.

Potter will draw HP fans from all over the world. Yes it will probably not dent MK's attendance, but you better believe IOA is goin to be getting MAJOR crowds.

Edit- I don't think TLM and the rest of FL expansion will be able to hit the HP demographic and get the fans back they will lose. They need a MAJOR e ticket for 15-30 year olds and that E-ticket would be JttCotE. But, who really knows if they'd go that far? I'd go to DAK over IOA for that ride any day.

Wow the Potter comments are becoming as insidious as the Stitch ones. They invade every thread!

New FL with concept art is all that will be announced I bet.

Al Lutz in his Miceage update today has a couple of words about the D23 Expo and a WDW announcement that was supposed to be a surprise.

I still find it interesting that they would announce things for WDW at an Anaheim event, but whatever.

Insidious? More ANNOYING if you ask me...

When you're talking about announcing millions of dollars worth of attractions in a troubling economy from a company known to take shortcuts to save money, I assume Disney is doing it obviously because they realize they have some major competition. This directly relates to the subject in my opinion. Harry Potter will be the thing on people's mind during these approaching months, and you better believe they'll be in the WDW forum too. So, you should get used to it or you will get more and more annoyed.

There are threads and forums for Universal here. If some posters decide to turn every discussion into Potter prattle, I'm sure they will find the mods to be annoying to them. You better believe it.

If you talk about how Disney should compete with HP or how HP could drop Disney attendance, then that is all on topic. I've seen you go off topic on many threads too. Just saying  :ROFLOL:

I don't believe it the "stay on topic" mantra. Good conversation always meander. But I try not to take threads off topic, I just don't hold back when they do.

That being said, I'm more refering to posters who try to turn every topic into a discussion of a specific thing that intrests them. For instance if I turned every thread into an Epcot discussion. :lookaroun

Not that this ever happens.

And it's not my thought I'm thinking practical. Even if they don't admit it, Disney will be pulling for these fast expansions because of Potter because it is obvious, and I'll leave it at that. I only bring up Potter when it directly relates to the topic. So, let's move on please!

Do you think DLR will outshine WDW announcements?
