I think they are admitting the 50th anniversary was a bust and is over at New Years they just need to keep it sorta going until the end of March to sell all the crappy merch

Well the Avengers news is slightly unexpected. My guess is that there is something surprising in store for WDW as well.

D23 is definitely a DLR-centric crowd so it's understandable to hype them up with an early parks announcement.
