Because the MCU DID begin in 2008, and Disney didn't buy Marvel until 2009?
Electra is one of the worst movies of all time. Catwoman isn't much better. Wonder Woman I'll give you, but I don't think they're inducting Gal Gadot as a Disney Legend for her performance in a DC movie.
Blade is a comic book movie, but he's not really a 'superhero'.

As far as the 'deserving of a Disney Legend' stupid *** argument goes:

1) If you think this is bad, look at who's in the WWE Hall of Fame.
2) Its not like there are actual qualifications or requirements.
3) Look at some of the people getting into sports HoFs now. Tim Raines? Please.
4) They have to induct some people each D23. Which means the pool must get shallower/deeper (depending on how you look at it).
5) They just added 'Diversity' to the Keys so of course they are going to add more diverse Legends to go along with it.
6) There's no physical location to go to view busts or plaques or anything.
7) It means literally nothing. It doesn't hurt anyone. Its just an empty honor for publicity and some ego stroking.

There should be more people in. They should be inducting 'famous' long time CMs like Maynard from DL.
1) who doesnt think a physical wwe hall of fame with all of the props and history wouldnt do well (disney springs anyone)
3) what i dont get is life time bans... shoeless joe jackson is dead .. put him in... when pete rose dies he should be in too
6)

Didn't they announce a new grocery store on-site last presentation?

My expectations are absolutely at rock bottom.

I expect recycled news and a drip feeding of updates on projects that just need opening but they're trying to create hype

All whilst they announce record profits and gloat in their success at draining more money from people, at a time when everyone's daily costs have shot up.

The Disney difference.

I guess being a disney legend is like getting in the basketball hall of fame and getting your name on a window is like getting your jersey number retired by the team.
I’m sure a Disney Legend is not paying full price to enjoy a day in the parks , waiting in line to enjoy an attraction or paying the parking charge to park their car at MK.

Parks presentation is 90 minutes.
What's your sense for typical WDW fan reaction to the announcements?

  • Wow that blew my mind. So much stuff.
  • Some good stuff. But They should have done more.
  • That was a waste of 90 minutes of my life that l will never get back

I‘ve seen some chatter about Disney’s annual capex reaching $6 billion going forward. Apparently it was mentioned during the Q3 2022 earnings call but I can‘t seem to find it.

Does anybody know when and how that was mentioned?

So, there was a report based on the Other Site, but while I listened to the call, I didn't remember it. I went back to the transcript and the closest I can find is this:

"We are also revising our full year forecast for capital expenditures to $5 billion compared to fiscal 2021 CapEx of $3.6 billion. Our new expectation for 2022 is roughly $500 million lower than our previous guide, in part reflecting timing shifts of various projects across the company" (Christine McCarthy)

I suspect he posts here regularly under a new name. Have thought that for awhile now.
I have my doubts.. I think I would recognize his attitude. At first I really liked his critical opinion of the mouse but then he went off the rails and get really over the top.. It was a pretty pathetic how he took a lot of things from people in the company all the way up to the presidential election.

I’m a bit confused now how reservations actually worked. I don’t know if we were eligible for a reservation from every single category. Which made me worried because I didn’t want to have the system spit out a talent pass I really strongly wasn’t that interested in. The way it looked one had to ‘rank’ things from every bucket (talent, stage, Hall D23). I still picked from all the categories most days.

Anyways I literally got the three Hall D23 I really wanted and nothing else. Not sure if I did ‘good’ in the lottery or bad, but in 2019 all I received was a single stage pass for HSM:TM:TS. I suspect it did actually rank the order one picked the categories as I went out of my way to rank the hall D23 categories the first for each day.

Both Studio and The parks presentations. 🎉

You did better than I did…. I got one of the Pixar Ball giveaways, the Spider-Man 60th panel and the Imagineering 70th anniversary. None of the Hall D23 panels I wanted….standby here I come!
