News D23 Expo 2017

I was lucky enough to get Sorcerer's tickets for 2017 for my wife and I. We were Sorcerer's in 2013 and 2015 as well. Honestly I wouldn't go if I couldn't get these "line skip" type of tickets, considering it's a pretty big trip from FL to CA, hotel, etc. Just not worth it otherwise. Even though it's expensive, because the D23 Expo is only every other year, it's actually just the cost of a nice vacation for us the way we look at it.

As for kids, mine are 8 and 10, and I still wouldn't ever consider bringing them. They'd be so bored (but it all depends on your specific child). My son would rather ride Test Track all day long rather than sit in panels and shop. Just me and my wife go to the D23 Expo while my parents watch the kids for a few days and get some grandparents time.

Mike, that is one of the fun 'realities' regarding the Expo.
Absolutely nothing is guaranteed...and that includes the various panels.
It changes slightly year to year, but there are a few that seem to be regular happenings.

I would be very surprised if they decide to not include a Parks & Resorts panel.
Considering all that will be being built in the various Stateside Parks by July of next year, they will have plenty to show and tell about I would think.
I'm confident we will see some sort of spread promoting the new additions coming to DLR and DHS.
Something a bit more substantial then just concept art.

If Disneyland's Star Wars Land is really set for 2018 I think they have to show something since it'll be the last D23 before it's open. There's also GotG in Epcot since I'm sure one of our insiders said it could be announced then, the mystery IP that's still unannounced for DHS, and then Marvel in DCA so I think you're right that there's so much for them to show off. That doesn't even take the foreign parks into account.

Regardless of what the eventual roster of panels and events end up being, one thing is for sure -
You will have plenty to do and see, but a large amount of your time will be taken up by standing in long lines for anything and everything.

It's not all THAT bad...as you get to meet some interesting people waiting in said lines.
Just bring snacks and a water bottle / insulated mug and maybe a tech toy to play with.
Savor the atmosphere and be on alert for you just never know you might spot walking around.

I still think there's a good chance for all the reasons I stated.

I know what they are going to do...They are going to bring out 3 big Wheel barrels of Dirt representing SWL DL, SWL DHS & TSL DHS, And say.."Here's our Progress on the new lands for the East & West theme parks...They'll show the updated DL Picture that was recently uploaded online, And then explain about 90 new things for Shanghai for no apparent reasons but, just to get everyone urked....

Yeah, when there really wasn't much in development in the parks, I believe (other than Mine Train, but they'd already showed that off). Next year, will be a different story.

They also can show off the announced additions for Tokyo in addition to the domestic stuff (plus any other international builds that could be planned). They talked a bunch about Shanghai last year.

I'm sure the Parks presentation will be a big one in 2017. There will be much to show off. Will be buying tix for the three-day. I know it's not for everyone, but I do have a great time at D23.
