I already predicted a couple weeks ago but I'll jump in again.

Great idea for a thread BTW.

Here is what I said....two projects for WDW at D23 and two projects announced when potterville opens.

ST2 (obviously) and not a scaled back version!!!!!!! I've been calling shenanigans on that garbage rumor for many moons! :king:

Fantasyland but only about 75% of the blueprint.

Next years announcements......

the other 25% of Fantasyland and....................

(I just can't say :zipit: but it will involve something nobody expects).

Finally, I'm hoping for a DTD announcement this week too! But I'm not predicting that.

So there you go

I have already gone on record. Star Tours 2 will be announced it will be the first true e-ticket since Indy in DL. It will be innovative and next gen and include a space battle and pod racing as well as charecters Darth Vader and the two headed dude from TPM. Basically incorporating all 6 films. Captain EO will be returning to Disneyland. New details will be provided on the DCA rennovation including lushous new Little Mermaid and Carsland art and models and some new details about the park. The announcement for Shanghai is ready to go but they may delay it pending on the Chinese governments wishes.

In addition there is a surprise planned for each day's film presentation. Pirates 4 (Friday) and Winnie The Pooh (Sunday) although Lasseter announced it today in London jumping the gun (strange..)

So it is your position that FL will not be announced?

In your mind what constitutes an E-Ticket? Are you saying that there haven't been any E-Tickets built in Disneyland since 1995? In the main park I would agree with you, as I don't put Nemo's Submarine Voyage on that scale. I suppose you could also argue that Space Mountain was re-built as an E-Ticket from whatever level you want to place it prior to the refurbishment.

If you are saying that no E-Ticket has been built stateside since Indy than I would vehemently disagree with that.

Nemo Subs aint an e plus it uses same track layout same with Space Mountain. Space is the same ride just with some new projections and a new track (same layout).

While Soarin and Everest are E-tickets (barely) Star Tours 2 is the real deal.

Everest and Soarin didn't raise the bar on what an eticket should be where as the original Star Tours, Splash Mountain, Pirates, HM, Tower of Terror, Indy and Universal's Spiderman all raised the bar. ST 2 will continue in that bold tradition.

The Matterhorn Bobsleds!

Personally, I'd say there are several attractions in Central Florida not listed that raised the bar more than did the original (and current) Star Tours. But I do hope ST 2 can raise the bar far beyond what is presently there.

And Everest is way more than a D ticket, even with the Yeti in B mode. How much more cool if and when he again becomes fully functional!

Ok, so the argument is stateside.

Before I get into that, I'm thrilled that you think Star Tours 2 will be an E-Ticket. To me that means that it has to be better than The Simpsons.

So here are the major attractions that have opened since 1995:

Disneyland
1998: Rocket Rods
2000: Autopia
2005: Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters
2005: Space Mountain overhaul
2007: Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage

Disney's California Adventure (opens 2001)
2001: California Screamin', Soarin' Over California, Grizzly River Run
2003: Aladdin the Musical
2004: Tower of Terror
2008: Toy Story Mania

Magic Kingdom
1995: Alien Encounter (Soft opened in 1994, official opening 1995)
1998: Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
2003: Mickey's PhilHarmagic

Epcot
1999: Test Track
2003: Mission: Space
2005: Soarin'

Hollywood Studios/MGM
1998: Fantasmic!
1999: Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
2008: Toy Story Mania

Animal Kingdom (opens 1998)
1998: Kilimanjaro Safaris, Countdown to Extinction/Dinosaur, Festival of the Lion King
1999: Kali River Rapids
2006: Expedition Everest

Now I'm not advocating that all of the attractions listed above are E-Tickets, but I also recognize that not every E-Ticket has to re-define the term.

I don't think at the time of it's closure, Disneyland's Space Mountain was an E-Ticket, regardless of it's popularity. I would say the same of the Magic Kingdom's. It was simply not an attraction I had to do - in Florida I prefer Big Thunder over Space Mountain, but I am hoping that changes post refurbishment. Under that argument. Space Mountain improved to the level of an E-Ticket similar to your expectations of Star Tours. As for the Nemo Subs - I think this is a tougher argument. I was never in love with 20K Leagues Under the Sea at MK, and never experienced the original subs at Disneyland. In terms of the attraction length it is at least a D-Ticket, but to me it lacks that special something that I feel Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise have as classic "non-thrill" attractions.

As for DCA - Soarin' is most definitely an E-Ticket. I don't see how this is even a question. California Screamin' is difficult because it's not a traditional Disney Coaster. Sure it's thrilling, but the theming is sparse. I can agree to call that a D in the same vein that Toy Story Mania is a D. As for Tower of Terror, I feel that more people would consider this an E-Ticket if a better version didn't exist in Florida. I also listed the Aladdin stage show as to me it's my favorite thing in DCA. However if you're excluding shows than I guess I'll remove PhilHarmagic, Fantasmic, and Festival of the Lion King from the discussion as well.

At the Magic Kingdom, I think some people on here would have debated Alien Encounter - I enjoyed it, and the date of when it actually opened is questionable compared to Indy. Either way, I'm not sure that's an E-Ticket

At Epcot, Test Track and Mission: Space were meant to be E-Tickets. I think when it finally opened, Test Track may have fit that bill, but I don't think Mission: Space ever did. Even as a clone, I maintain that Soarin' has to be considered an E-Ticket.

Hollywood Studios: I've had discussions with people who felt that Rock 'n' Roller Coaster is the best themed coaster they've been on, because the coaster itself is better than Disneyland's Space Mountain. It's not particularly innovative, but I still feel it fits the bill of E-Ticket.

In the Animal Kingdom, it's unfair to say that Kilimanjaro Safaris is anything but an E-Ticket. I also feel that for similar reasons as Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Expedition Everest should also be considered an E-Ticket. It was a huge boost to that park, and certainly affected crowds like you would expect from an E-Ticket. Countdown to Extinction/Dinosaur is somewhat debatable, but again it's because of the comparison's made to it's California counterpart. If Indy didn't exist, Dinosaur would be most assuredly an E-Ticket as well.

To summarize, I think the definitive stateside E-Tickets since 1995 are Soarin' Over California, Soarin', Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and Expedition Everest.
