I see a lot of people saying bad news is expected, but nothing of what those news are? What's the bad news?
Allegedly (according to multiple people in this thread and also Brayden) TSI is going bye-bye, as is potentially the Riverboat (either perma docked or removed outright) and possibly the river itself. Presumably in favor of Cars, but not RSR.

1. Potential loss of RoA and TSI
2. Addition of Cars to MK which many feel doesn't fit thematically
3. Possibly no Villains lands plans which was popular around here
4. Possibly no announcements regarding DHS which needs stuff
5. Possibly no announcement of Moana in MK or Lion King in DAK which would really fit and help those parks

It’s funny to think whatever they announce tonight is to counter Epic because Epic opens next year whereas whatever they announced (new land wise) will take many years to happen….

….unless they “turbocharge” it ;)

All they had to do was Coco and Moana as pure expansions to the park. Would it kill them to make a right decision every once in a while? The thing is the people who run TWDC hate the product they inherited. They’re ashamed of and hate the Disney of old. They want to destroy it and rebuild it in their sick new light.

The secret rooms in the convention space are ready to show stuff tomorrow. All of that needed a bunch of time to develop. Budget and creative approvals take a bunch of time, too.

Nothing last-minute about whatever is being announced tonight.

If a few of the posters are right about the leaks, the only last-minute aspect is when they heard the whispers.

The secret room content doesn't have to be every new thing they are announcing.

It very much could just being showing off just Tropic Americas for WDW, which every person has been saying is absolute for awhile (but now that the last minute paranoia is setting in...) and other stuff from DL or even international

Doesn't mean they will show anything announced for MK, whatever that may be

In fairness, 4 & 5 were never really mentioned by Disney. Only really rumored on here. Can’t be mad at them for not announcing something that they aren’t ready to announce yet.

I haven't heard for sure that Cars booted the Coco proposal, but there's a lot of smoke. In any event, it's not necessarily RSR. Cars moves a lot of merch, and the proposal was put together to "more effectively" counter EU's offerings.
God bless the Imagineers who came up with Cars as a counter-proposal to Coco.

Reminds me a little of a former Imagineer's recent YouTube discussion of plans for a roller coaster that would launch through the "O" on the Hollywood sign of a Hollywood Hills facade next to ToT. In response, he pitched a "cheap and cheerful" alternative proposal of a rollercoaster in a plain building that would retain the Hollywood sign, but now it would be a blacklit plywood cutout inside the building. It was hard not to think "gee, thanks" watching that origin story of Rock'n'Roller Coaster!

Doesn't mean everything shown tonight will be in the rooms though.

I think RoA will likely persist in some shortened format. Also, the blessing of size doesn't mean they should commit to unlimited sprawl. If TSI is not pulling its weight, making people take an overlong walking path around it isn't terribly efficient.
What do mean in the last sentence? Preserving TSI could mean a "shortcut" path behind it. Is that overly long?

They don’t think they’re choosing unpopular attraction investments.
Theme park fans/purists may not love Cars in MK, but millions of little boys will lose their mind when their mom tells them that there’s a new Cars ride at Disney World.

I used to work at the Test Track Simporium (R.I.P.) and you wouldn’t believe how quickly Cars t-shirts flew off the shelves for both kids and adults. We regularly sold $100 Cars playsets. It’s a smart play, just maybe not the most thematic option.
