As a lifetime Disney fanatic who just returned, I also anxiously await your orders. I did succeed in getting my rather grumpy husband to admit that " it wasn't so bad" and even got him to agree to taking more regular trips in the future. :sohappy:

My teenage daughter's boyfriend came with us this trip too. He was a first-timer who is now convinced that it is The Happiest Place on Earth.

Unfortunately, as a park veteran I could see places where the magic is slipping. The most glaring in particular was the condition of the ladies' bathrooms in Fantasyland. Several overflowing commodes, inches of nastiness on the floor, empty soap dispensers......DEFINITELY not up to what I have always known as Disney standards.

Yes, Vader, you and everyone can do stuff for the site. We'll have instructions and suggestions on the website when we open that will help the cause(s). :)

Glad you all are looking forward to the site. About the radio, we do have speakers, but may have room for more. If you are interested in writing or speaking for the site, just give me a PM. :)

this site was created by a few people, but it is a community effort, and will make sure to stay rooted within the Disney fan community. Submissions are accepted, just proofread what you submit, and don't be hurt if it isn't accepted. It's not that it's not good, it's just not what we need at the time.

PRESS COVERAGE

Orlando Sentinel:

"A new Web site will launch in January to "protect the magic" at Walt Disney World. I'm told that www.d-troops.com will be run by Disney fans and current and former employees."

Nice, nice. :D

Hopefully you'll see more of D-Troops in the OS in the upcoming weeks!

I believe that the mention was in today's edition, in the Money section (front page, I believe).. So, be sure to get a copy of it... It'll be worth something in a few years ;)

Too bad I don't live in Florida to pick up a copy. But I'm just happy that I will be involved in a web stie that's getting press coverage :)

We're not foolin' around here... lol

This is great, though. Our press release really has had a reverberation...

I figured the new site would be getting some news coverage before long...after all, thanks to Jim Hill, Grizz is already a celebrity ;)
The graphics already look great! I can't wait for the site to officially open!
I haven't signed up yet for the D-Army (I don't know why it's taken me so long). Do I have to wait until the site launches, or can I just say "hey, I want to join the D-Army" and that's it?

Just saying you want to join here won't get you in, really...

I'll be a forum, so you join when the site opens on the fourth :)

Anyone can be in the D-Army; it doesn't have to be "granted." As Gregory said, there will be a place to sign up on forums, but also areas to sign petitions and - the MOST important - areas with instructions on how to write Disney.

So look forward to having you aboard! :)

Hopefully all you guys will still post on the WDWMagic Forums as well.

I know I plan on posting here just as much as always and still spend some time over on D-Troops Forums. It just wouldn't be the same without some of you guys on here.

We are going to have a series of articles and areas where guests can learn more about endangered attractions and participate in their preservation and progress. :)

I wish you the best in this effort.....I certainly admire your passion, but I do hope that your "missions" are based on facts and not rumors. If you want anyone to take you seriously (and by anyone, I mean WDW and WDC), you would certainly lose a lot of credibility if you base your "missions" on pointless rumors, like that which occured with The Land balloons.

I understand that concrete information is hard to get, and many CM's themselves report what they believe to be true, even though it may be nothing more than a rumor itself.

Remember Grizz and all, you have a voice, and you have a responsibility.

Thanks. The setup will be very different from what you've seen on these forums.
