UGH... MJ's fever is 101.5 and she is congested, so I gave her some Tylenol, cold meds and a water push into her feeding tube (total of less than one ounce) and she promptly threw it back up on me :(

Still feeling badly? You need to get her fever back down... do you have any tylenol suppositories? Is she throwing up between feedings?

Oh no, Bonny!
I hate when little ones are sick! Makes you feel so helpless!
If her fever doesn't go down, I'd call her doctor.
Hope she feels better soon.

Thanks Betty.... now I don't know what to do...she is supposedto be given her night time meds at 6:00 but the total of those meds is over and oz, so I have no confidence it will work...and I can't get any fluids into her if she is throwing up becuase she might blow her fundoplication out....not good, if she has to be hospitalized this is going to suck.

Bonny - have you tried giving her a cool bath? I had to do that a couple of times with my son when he was little - he was the king of spiking fevers!

I think its time to call the doctor (and thats my professional opinion as well as my mom intuition)...maybe you can get compazine suppositories to deal with the vomiting, she needs to get her medications.

I thought of that, but she hates baths on the best of days and since she is so big I ususally need DH's help to do that....

maybe a cool compress?

That would probably help, but I'm with Mad on this - call the doctor. You really don't want to mess around with her meds!

Just for the record, we'd pretend he was in a swimming pool (complete with bathing suit) to get him to take a cool bath)

Ok, go with the cool compresses on the forehead and under the arms.

Despite that, I'd still say you should call the doctor. Risk of health over finances is never a good thing.
