Cubs win!

Sour... Maybe :animwink: Still, there would have only been 2 outs in the inning if Alou catches the ball. I still think that it's not this fans fault. The blame should really be going to Gonzalez for booting the DP ball that would have ended the inning.

Baker, its just the way he runs things. He manges his pitches horrible. I would love to see Prior go on and have a HOF career, but with Baker as his manager, I'm not so sure hes going to last. Yes, I know Wood had arm troubles before, but it doesn't mean that hes completely healed. Throwing that many pitches will take its toll on Wood, again. Its just that, having a 1-2 punch with Prior and Wood and knowing that with the way Dusty runs things, in a couple years one maybe both could be on the shelf. They could be the next Schilling/Johnson combo. They have all the potential. I just don't want to see them lose it all thanks to Dusty.

OK, I agree with you about Dusty, but you still have to give the man credit that he has gotten the Cubs to where they are. I am concerned over pitch counts for those guys, but time will tell and as long as they are winning, they are going to keep throwing.

Still disagree over the fan though....

No hard feelings.

GOOD MORNING!!!!! :D

*feeds billy goat*

Ok first of all, I agree with everyone about the fan...if Alou would have caught the ball it changes the whole feel in the inning, but its also true that it wasn't the only thing that went wrong in the inning....for example Gonzalez missing double play to end the inning...foul ball incident hurt them, but it shouldn't have beat them (like the commentators pointed out last night)....however, when things like that happen the opposing team has to capitalize...some don't....the Marlins at some points in this series have left the bases loaded before....but that time they capitalized on all the errors...so they deserve some credit...its not like they were handed the EIGHT runs on a silver platter.

Did you all think that the Cubs would win the series that easily??
The Marlins have proven that they are a great team, worthy of respect....yet not once this post season has anyone given them any respect...even when they beat the mighty GIANTS (3-1 series)....

Game 7, if the Marlins lose, I as a fan (not a fair weather fan...or a bandwagoner...like some down here) will be satisfied...because they didn't give up....

Game 7 will be one heck of a game....

GO FISH!

BTW I'm not the only Marlins fan in the nation......

I was sooooooo disappointed! What an incredible game up until that point. Front page of the Herald has a clear shot of the man's arm out over the field. I have to agree with Scott. With 2 outs, it would have been a completely different story. As mad as I am at that fan, I also feel sorry for him. If we lose tonight it will be a long time before he can show his face again without threat of harassment or worse.

I was very angry at that fan, but I agree with Erika, I feel sorry for him. When they zoomed up on his face afterwards, he looked really scared. GO CUBBIES! :sohappy:

I agree with you that the Marlins did take advantage of the situation. Anytime you give another team 5 outs in an inning, you're asking for trouble and the Marlins capitalized.

This reminds me of the 1985 World Series when KC was playing St. Louis and the ump blew a call at first base costing St. Louis the game. The Cardinals never recovered from that call and lost Game 7 horribly (I think it was 11-0). I think the Cubs are in the same boat--they were so shocked by what happened last night that I don't think they will recover.

Marlins win in 7, but I still want the Cubs more than anything.

Go Cubs!

Too bad that only one team can advance to the world series...cause they both deserve it; they've both played and won great teams in NLDS and before that came from behind to get into the post season....

The team that plays the best tonight will win the game...but that doesn't mean that the loser is any less of a team....both are great...

GOODLUCK TO BOTH TEAMS!!!!! (will attempt to watch the game neutrally with out any bias)

....yea right.....GO FISH!

We are going to Chicago this weekend for a family thing.

I am thinking that there will be a parade and a big hoo-hah regardless of whether the Cubs win the pennant or not.

Do any of you natives have an inside line on this?

Should we avoid downtown and Navy Pier?

Actually, Boston fans wouldn't interfere with a Sox player who was attempting to make a big catch. Ask Trot Nixon in right field. :D

Very true. And this would be the case probably in all the other major league cities except for north Chicago on a cool, autumn night on the left field line.

But the quote was still funny.

Most of the activity should be in Wrigleyville. Downtown should be OK. Can't tell for sure because this is kind of uncharted territory for us :lookaroun
