*takes a moment to reflect on the the season, and the post season*
First of all, I'd like to say that it was a great series; one of the most exciting I've seen. Like I've said before, the losing team in this series has nothing to be ashamed of...this holds true now (when I know the outcome)...the Cubs are a great team and I have to admit even as a Marlins fan though I had a small bit of hope I knew it wasn't going to be easy for the Marlins to win it trailing in the series 3-1.
The stars alinged properly, and the Marlins won.
Does it make the Marlins a better team....NO.....but it seems that in any sport there are three things you need, knowledge, skill and LUCK....and the Marlins got lucky.
The Cubbies have great fans, an admirable group if you ask me...perhaps next year will be the year....you Cubs fans sure deserve it.
It was a great wild series. What I enjoyed the most was that the series didn't turn into a Boston/Yankees series...both teams played professionally...winning and losing with dignity.
It is said that respect it not given it is earned; I just hope that people learn to respect "lesser" teams in the playoffs...this year the Braves and the Giants both 100 game winners fell to less winning teams....the only reason the term "under dog" exists is because their is a careless underestimation of a team...the game, the series is not over until the final out.
CONGRATS to the Cubs! CONGRATS to the MARLINS!
