creepy to ask characters for a hug?

Hey, I was wondering. Jessie quickly became my favorite character in Toy Story and when we get to back to Disney next year, part of me wants to ask Jessie for a hug (Confession. I've got a bit of a crush on her :o) But I was worried that it could be a little creepy for the character. I mean, posing for pictures is one thing. Kids asking for a hug is one thing but would it creep them out for an adult to ask? Just wondering what your thoughts are

I am a 38 year old man and when I met Dug the dog from "Up" I reached out and I gave him a big ole bear hug. Then I got a hug from Russel too. Didn't even need to ask. I see adults interacting with characters like this all the time. Nothing wrong or creepy about it.

:ROFLOL:No need to feel ashamed. I'm sure the characters are used to hugging everybody, so they probably will hug you first.

It's not wrong...Back in the day when I was good friends with Bugs Bunny I can say that no matter who it was I was to welcome them with open arms to MY park. And that was a good thing until some old dancing crumudgeon kicked the bunny to the curb.:brick:

Go for it, I would love to give Mickey a massive hug but am not brave enough! WDW is about reverting back to being a child, you should be skipping around the Magic Kingdom and jumping up and down during the Parades!

On my last visit when taking pictures of the characters, if they even turned to pose I would shuffle off embarrassed!

GO FOR IT!!!!! I might try it myself when I go back in Sept!!

It wasn't for me, until that pesky business with Ariel and the restraining order....

In my opinion it's much less creepy to just go ahead and reach out for a hug, 99.9% of the time I can guarantee you they will immediately hug you back.

Walking up to one and "asking" for a hug? Yeah thats a bit creepy

Absolutely!! Hug away!! Like others have said, if you walk up to the characters with your arms out for a hug, you will definitely get a big hug. I've been hugged by Tigger while bouncing up and down, and last year, Marie and I hugged and did the French "air kiss" past both cheeks, and I'm a gray-haired 52 year old woman!

I get hugs from the characters all the time, but I also look like I'm 18 (I'm 27). I'm all about it...most times they reach out to you before you even have to reach to them. Have fun!

A couple of months ago, I took advantage of the free character photo offered to Disney Visa Card holders at EPCOT. I was there with two females, and Mickey insisted on hugging me. I really didn't want to, but he certainly had no problem with hugging an adult.

He is doing meet and greets now at the Animation Building, and the sign advertising him even says "I'm a hugger!" He gave all of us hugs without hesitation. :)
