A couple of months ago, I took advantage of the free character photo offered to Disney Visa Card holders at EPCOT.

What time does this open? We tried to go last year and it wasnt open And how do you get your free picture? Just show your Disney Visa when you walk up?

Thanks!

I believe that the time was around Noon, but I don't have a clear recollection. It was at innoventions, and they just asked to see the Visa card. We stood in a line of roughly ten families. We went to the photo shop later and picked the picture that we wanted to have for free. We had a choice of five different shots, and they added whatever graphic we chose for free.

I'm a fairly "mature" woman and I had a hug fest with Dale at Liberty Tree Tavern. It was a lot of fun.

My husband also got a restraining order from Ariel as a memento. :D I'm ok with it because I'm kinda of tired of all my pictures of him and my daughter with Ariel and he is looking at her "shells"

Minnie loves hugging my husband. So when Mickey and Minnie were standing together and she got a little huggy with my man, Mickey decided he was going to show her up. It was a great moment.

What can be a bit creepier is when it's the other way around, that is, when the character pursues the affection of a guest - especially when it's a "male" character going after an obviously attractive [read: hot] woman. Although most of the characters are well behaved, there's nothing more awkward than Goofy insisting on a hug from a I-hope-she's-old-enough Brazilian girl in a spaghetti strap top and bike shorts. Not to mention that, if you think about where the performer "looks through" the costume, and where their eyes are actually looking when they animate so that the character's eyes are looking at you... :lookaroun

As others have said, the character may be the one to offer a hug first.

If you have a Disney VISA card, I would highly recommend the special cardholder meet and greet at Innoventions West. You do not get to know who the characters are until you get into the room, but it is a lot of fun. The characters are much more interactive and playful.
