You know, I'm about done with this topic. It's all over the national and local media, and trending on Twitter. (Some of the Twitter memes and videos are hilarious, I must admit!)
Disneyland security and management on scene for this incident were made to look like completely inept and useless fools. They willingly put their paying customers in harms way and allowed customers to do the basic job they are not human enough to do.
But here's the silver lining, and I hope you all can share it with me. This was a family unit of some kind that violently beat each other up and called each other horrific names at Disneyland.
I can not even imagine such a thing ever happening in my family in public or private, and I hope you can not either.
My family, like all families, has had disagreements. But we have never screamed at each other, never sworn at each other or even considered breathing the N word or any such hateful epithet, and the adults and parents have certainly never argued in front of the children. The biggest argument we've gotten in as a broad family unit from elders to children involved allegedly made up words while playing Scrabble at the beach house. Aunt Ingrid hauled out her big Oxford Dictionary and settled it quickly, reacting much faster than Disneyland security. As a family and as a people we are polite, we are kind, we are gracious, we are classy.
I hope this video makes you realize, as it has me, that we should be thankful for the family we have in our lives. I can't even imagine what it must be like to be this other Toontown family and behave like that in public, or anywhere for that matter.
And with that, I'm out of this topic.
Disneyland management has been shamed, and they fully deserve it over this one.
