Just heard "try everything". I dont understand how anyone thinks this fits here. Because she has a twang in her voice? I loved this show for its quirkyness and lowbrow humor. This song misses on that horribly.
Disney has gone to the path of very loose fits with things. If it’s vaguely “country” or sung by a country singer, it’s good enough. If it’s vaguely “adventure” or “exploration” it’s good enough for the new expansion at AK. The days of them actually caring about thematic consistency seem to be over. If they can make any excuse to vaguely make it fit will

I honestly love how that version of “Try Everything” sounds.

It doesn’t really offend me that bears who sang covers of actual songs for 50 years will be singing covers of actual songs.

I’m sure this will end up very popular. Maybe “A Whole New World” will work in the actual show.
If it doesn't have Olivia Rodrigo I'm not interested.

Considering summer 2024 is THE YEAR for seemingly everyone to start singing country music, Disney is getting really lucky with this new production. We are already hearing country where we don’t expect it. If Beyonce can do it and receive mainstream acclaim, I doubt anyone will bat an eye at Disney songs in this style in Frontierland of all places.

We liked it in 1992 when Song of the South was given a country sound for our Splash…that was pretty much all they did to make a movie in the Deep South fit into Frontierland and it was “Imagineering at its best.”

Maybe she’s the big surprise Steve alluded to.

In genre, the Country Bears' cover of Disney movie music can be best described as at the center of a three way venn diagram between levitating bedroom balladry, unkempt psychedelic grunge, and uptempo pop-rock, although perhaps more instrumental to their music's success than the production is the lyrics and themes. The Bears sing with honesty, specificity, and humor, conveying the abstract pangs of angst and heartbreak as a vivid image of the rebellion and sadness of youth.

At this point, you love everything the company does, so that’s no real surprise 😅

News to me. Is failing to be negative 100% of the time equivalent to loving everything?

I like it enough to have an Annual Pass, so I obviously don’t hate it as much as some.

I did recently say the broken lights in World Celebration (around the planter I make fun of) were unacceptable…

I thought this was a fan page?

It just seems weird when so many of these recent projects are inconsistent in their elements. As the “certified number one hater” according to many, I still like elements of the new Frontierland projects.

We all have our own tastes. It would seem impossible for me that someone could have nothing negative to say about some of these design elements unless they straight up love everything that is new just because it’s “fresh”.

It is fascinating how other people can have different views of things (and even approach something from an entirely different angle).

For me, WDW is still an escape. I try to ignore the little things. If I was as unhappy as some around here, I would not be spending 10s of thousands of dollars a year to see Mickey Mouse. There are other places on earth.

Southeast US does have blue grass and country sound as a part of its cultural landacape. Not sure what your last paraph really mean here. It fit the music perfectly.

Here's a 3D model of my negativity quotient.

being critical in discussing the parks on a discussion board does not equal being unhappy when at the parks.

I can’t stand the guardians tower at DCA but I still enjoy riding the Red Car Trolley. My day at the parks isn’t ruined by it - but I’m 100% against it.

I think, for me, while CBJ was never a favorite, what I DID like was the bears themselves. And they’re staying. Such classics as “Mama Don’t Whip Little Buford” and “All the Guys that Turn Me On Turn Me Down” never did much for me as a kid and, as an adult, my willingness to laugh at either are basically because I think they don’t belong in Frontierland or Magic Kingdom or Disney World and I am thinking, “are they really doing this?”

So I’m happy to keep the bears but change the act. But, I do understand it’s not that simple for the long-term fans.
