You know if they also do this for TDL's version after this one opens..Oh, they would be tossing stuff left and right...Yeah, this is more changing for the sake of more film IP and the chance to do something silly like a line of merch where the Country Bears are in Disney character costumes that can become a fan collectable for a few years.
Pretty sure it was thought-up before Iger entered the picture.I have a theory as to how this refresh came to be: Iger and/or Chapek were constantly urging the Imagineers to tear out the show and replace it with some sort of IP-based ride, but the Imagineers were rejecting it. So finally one of them said, "What if we made the Bears sing Disney songs? Would that satisfy you?" and Iger and/or Chapek said "Yes".
Someone who had ties to Imagineering on Instagram (I don't remember the name right now), said it was basically either the Bears do this or the Bears get ripped out. I'll find the full quote in a bit.I have a theory as to how this refresh came to be: Iger and/or Chapek were constantly urging the Imagineers to tear out the show and replace it with some sort of IP-based ride, but the Imagineers were rejecting it. Of course I bet now that people know when CBJ is closing, I bet that's going to factor to the theater being more packed for the next two weeks with everyone trying to see the original one last time.
I think the bears singing popular country songs from the past 50 years would’ve been really fun.Disney missed such a golden opportunity when they decided to just make this a Disney song revue show. Another suggestion for an alternate version of the show for its closing song with all the Bears on stage:
Take Me Home, Country Roads.
You know everyone in the theater would be singing along and it would’ve been glorious.

I think so too but they would not want to pay for the licensing...I would hope that the song for Teddi Barra would be in the same general tone....and not "can you feel the love tonight"....Disney missed such a golden opportunity when they decided to just make this a Disney song revue show. Im trying to think of a good song for her from the Disney catalog and nothing is coming to mind but I agree they are going to have to better than that....Baby Mine?I think so too but they would not want to pay for the licensing...I would hope that the song for Teddi Barra would be in the same general tone....and not "can you feel the love tonight"....
Quite simple...And, it's a Disney Song!Im trying to think of a good song for her from the Disney catalog and nothing is coming to mind but I agree they are going to have to better than that.
