Why can’t shows like CBJ have variable set lists and dialog options? It’s a 16-minute long pre-programmed AA show.

This would add rewatch value and make it a bit more fun. Sprinkle in a few covers of popular songs (as long as they’re popular enough for audiences to recognize them), and I think the show could keep chugging along.
It's was working with Showbiz Pizza And Chuck E Cheese for many many years...My guess is that the Imagineers and maintenance are just lazy

Be our guest, be our guest
Let's put the "wild" in wilderness
Tie bandannas 'round your neck, my friends
And we'll provide the rest

Honey dip, berry tarts
nature's culinary arts
Fresh caught fish paw'd from our rivers
Don't believe us, ask the beavers

They can build, they can gnaw
Set the table, they'd done it all
And a picnic here is never second best

So just fold-up your map
Pitch that tent or nap, but
Be our guest, Be our guest
Be our guest

Salmon cakes, S'more soufflé
Pie à la mode or flambé
We'll prepare and serve fireside
A culinary cabaret

Night is dark, Don't be scared
The campfire feast is all prepared
No one's gloomy or complain'n
The fireflies are entertain'n

We tell stories, and play jokes
Unbearably fun with you fine folks
And it's all in perfect taste, yeah that's for sure.

Come on and raise your glass
You've won your one free pass
To be our guest, be our guest, be our guest

If you're stressed, bear witness
The outdoors is always best
...
Be our guest, Be our guest, Be our guest

Put those forest skills to the test
Tie bandanas 'round your neck, my friends
And we'll provide the rest

Honey drips, berries ripe
Why, we only live to swipe
There's great fishing in our rivers
Don't believe me, ask the beavers

They can build, they can gnaw
After all folks, it's nature's law
And a picnic here is never second best

Go on, fold up your map
Pitch a tent and nap
Be our guest, Be our guest
Be our guest

Salmon roe, s'more soufflé
Pie and honeycomb flambé
We'll prepare and serve with flair
A culinary cabaret

Night is dark but don't be scared
The feast is all prepared
No one's gloomy or complaining
The fireflies are out entertaining

We tell tales, we play tricks
Bears enjoy outdoor antics
And it's all in perfect taste, that you can bet

Come on and lift your flask
You've won your own free pass
To be our guest, be our guest, be our guest

If you're stressed, bear witness
The wilderness is best

You've put far more effort into this than Disney probably will. I fully expect none of the Disney songs the bears sing to have new lyrics.

Thinking on it I really don’t hate the idea. If Toyko went ahead first and spruced up the show like this we’d all be begging for WDW to do it too. Execution is yet to be seen though.
Tokyo has a really good track record, but they are still capable of getting things wrong. Or rather the imagineers are. I think their renovation of Peter Pan's Flight a few years back is kind of an awkward mixed bag. And i'm most definitely not interested in seeing Stitch invade the Tiki Room.

I wouldn't be championing this new show even if it was a Tokyo project. IMO it's not even worth any hypothetically spruced up animatronics (which Disney should be routinely doing to all attractions regardless).

Ok, not only am I bothered about the IP invasion, but the term "pop country" is giving me some red flags as well. That genre has a fairly broad time period, from the 1950s all the way up to now, with recent decades using synth/electrical instruments. So I really hope they won't be using modern music.
Yeah…this update has a lot of potential to be cringey…and not in the funny dated way that some of CBJ was already, but rather the “trying too hard to be hip and cool” way that is unbearable to watch.
