News Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and acts

Has anyone heard this? A friend of mine in the entertainment industry claimed that a certain pop music megastar (whose film and tour have dominated public conscience for quite some time) may have been approached to write for the new version, and possibly voice a character... I haven't seen this repeated elsewhere, so I'm curious if anyone else has.

Olivia Rodrigo? 🤪

I wish they could collaborate with Dolly, but that’s probably not possible given that she has her own theme park.
I really do too! I wish some of the material she wrote for her collaboration with Disney Animation would have been released or completed... "A Few Good Ghosts" Instead they cancelled it in favor of Chicken Little....while cute, was not the great film we could have gotten...
I would not mind Dolly doing something with Country Bear Jamboree...She is an amazing talent.

I'm surprised she hasn't tried a similar attraction at her own park... But the park really doesn't have the experience required to upkeep a dozen+ AAs of modern condition.

I think they could get Dolly involved and it wouldn't be a competitive issue. However, the problems I surmise (IMO) are:
  1. Dolly is old-school (in the sense that she's old and younger generations will be increasingly detached from her celebrity)
  2. Dolly is old-school (in the sense that she wouldn't want to sanitize a classic attraction that people still find funny).

To your second point, Dolly has shown herself to the eminently adaptable.

They’ve made changes before and hardly anyone noticed.

There are like 100 Swifties for every one Country Bear Jamboree fan.

We don’t even have a cool nickname
Probably a 1000 Swifties for every one CBJ fan. Over ~4 million people have already attended the Eras tour and it’s not even halfway over. Anyway….. when is CBJ closing?

Oh, there are many more of us CBJ fans than you think. We’re everyone you depend on. We're the people who do your laundry and cook your food and serve your dinner. We make your bed. We guard you while you're asleep. We drive the ambulances. We direct your call. We are cooks and taxi drivers and we know everything about you. We process your insurance claims and credit card charges.

A TS/CBJ collaboration is something I never would have put in realm of possibility rumor list ever. Even when I revisit the lists with my tin foil hat on.

Not doubting the rumor, but it’s defiantly out of left field for me.

I believe it's likely something Disney may have wanted to do, but is clearly impossible. But it'd work out great if it worked...

The Bears have officially approached "Limping to the finish" condition.

- Buff's speaker is blown out
- Melvin isn't moving as much as he should
- Gomer can only move his head
- Fur on most of the bears looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a long time.
- Zeke isnt moving properly from the neck down
- Fred's hands and arms don't move
- Tennessee's arms are incorrectly positioned and nowhere near The Thang and aren't moving.
- Second Henry's head is stuck looking at the floor
-Liverlip's mouth and body aren't moving properly and his eyes are having trouble moving.
- Shaker can't move his waist anymore and his head is broken
- Sun Bonnets aren't moving smoothly and look possessed.
- Middle Bonnet is having trouble lifting her head
- Big Al seems to be fine (Most important thing)
- Sun Bonnets raising slower during the finale. They're normally up when the song starts.
- Come Again mix sounds off

She's stayed pretty relevant - had her recent stuff with Miley Cyrus, etc

And she certainly would enjoy the humor of the existing show but I am sure she also can adapt to a modern tale as well

Well, considering the last refurb was 2012...
This could be a good reason to see better AA motion for the bears...That is to say "if" they get any upgrades for them when the closing does happen this would be very welcoming...

Have they stated when it's pending closure is? my guess is if anything it could be anytime after the holidays roll through in Jan/Feb so they can fix problems and sound issues and have it ready for the spring early summer season to begin..

Why can’t shows like CBJ have variable set lists and dialog options? It’s a 16-minute long pre-programmed AA show.

This would add rewatch value and make it a bit more fun. Sprinkle in a few covers of popular songs (as long as they’re popular enough for audiences to recognize them), and I think the show could keep chugging along.

It's was working with Showbiz Pizza And Chuck E Cheese for many many years...My guess is that the Imagineers and maintenance are just lazy
