At this point we have to be reaching overexposure of Disney film music. It’s super redundant to the point it’s not special anymore
And it's not even like it's we're getting a wide variety of Disney music in the parks-it's the same films over and over again. Mermaid, BATB, Aladdin, Lion King, PATF, Tangled, Frozen, and now Encanto, with very very little from anywhere else.
out of curiosity what songs were troublesome?
I imagine that people mostly complained (to the extent that they did actually complain) were "Mama Dun' Whoop Little Buford" and "All the Guys that Turn Me On Turn Me Down." Probably didn't go over well with the "everything at Disney should be perfectly appropriate for my overly sensitive four year old child who has never left my house" crowd, even though I'm confident of the "objectionable" material went over their heads. Reportedly the name Liverlips (and the name only-not anything the AA was singing or doing) might mean/refer to something racially insensitive, but that's easy to fix with a name change IMO.

WondersOfLife

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
I want to try and guess the songs based on the poster...

Henry - opens with be our guest

Trixie singing "I won't say I'm in love" with bunny bubbles and beula being the muses

Wendell and Teddy Beara, A Whole New World or love is an open door

Big Al, shoot this could be anything.... Just for giggles, a super out of tune "when you wish upon a star" lol

Romeo, that rock n roll love song in frozen 2 by kristoff? Or can you feel the love tonight

Shaker, bare necessities or hakuna matata

Ernest, Everybody wants to be a "bear"

5 bear rugs, something from PatF would be good. Cajun music.

Instead, what should have happened is the original show plussed with variables like Star Tours so you can get some surprises and get a few to feel not as bad to repeat.(although I always prefer the money go into one really good show)

Or..just make the oriignal show concept and enhance the heck out of it. Besides the upkeep, better effects etc...

I really don't expect much from the company whose recent projects leave a lot to be desired and can't even give us the Country Bear Christmas version of the show that they used to for free, as they charge for holidays.

It would have also been a great opportunity to create a mini Halloween version of the show. Ghost Riders in the Sky and other legend folk songs that could be utilized to enhance the Halloween Parties.

The company just really sucks at what they do now.

This idea that the attraction needs to be a bigger draw is just ridiculous rationalization of lousy choices to poorly spend money and try to create crowding problems that can be “solved”. The Country Bear Jamboree is a single theater with a single small waiting space. Its run time was already cut down to increase its hourly capacity and maintained decent visitation. It logistically cannot support packed shows. The effort required to perfectly fill the theater and then keep people in the waiting room will increase the cycle time actually reducing capacity. Anything more than a single show’s worth of wait is going to spilling out into the already crowded walkways. The Magic Kingdom still other areas that are far less utilized. Stitch Sings Disney’s Greatest Hits would have made far more sense if you’re actually concerned with capacity utilization.

I don’t expect the shows will end up packed, just more popular and better attended.

Not thrilled about the changes, hoping the Tiki birds aren't next. I hope they leave the songs that were written for the bears and that it's not all "Disney's Greatest Hits" aka the most overplayed songs across all of property.

I know it won't happen, but I wouldn't mind as much if they took some of their own songs that are used in Frontierland area music, like "A Cowboy Needs a Horse" or poor "Old Yeller". They have so much music in their catalog, it's not like they need to change "Hakuna Matata" or "it's a small world" into country. I thought of "Blue Shadows on the Trail" last night from Disney's package film, Melody Time. Most of the people going to the parks probably have never heard it, so therefore it's not a contender for the new show, but that's an example of a Disney song I think would work beautifully with the bears.

The goal is likely to get more children squealing about hearing a Tiana, Elsa or Moana song again somewhere in the parks. I'd like to be wrong, but I've lost so much trust with this company.

Blue Shadows is a country classic, and in Three Amigos as well.

maintained decent visitation
That’s a bold claim cotton…

Certainly not consistent with my anecdotal observations and conversations with others.

Obviously disney has the counts. Plus stitch isn’t a liability while cbj is.

Cbj doesn’t have extended queuing like philharmagic but is designed to collect stream of people like HoP, AA, tikiroom, magic theatre, etc and all the continuously running shows of that design choice. It’s (cbj) relatively short runtime keeps it working. And in that concept excess people should be turned away verse queued. Of course later designs added queue plus the holding pen like they used for the 3d threatres built for mgm and beyond.

If Pecos Bill was going to be majorly changed, CBJ being down would be the time to do it, yet no announcement.
There is nothing to hype there if all they do is change the name and some story. That’s blog level news release.

It would only br newsworthy if they were changing the menu and trying to tie it to the ride.

They can still do the first.. tiana news could also be held back for having some news for later

CBJ has a higher capacity than Tiki Room. It does not get the crowds like it used to, but that is in part due to age, more to do than in early years and the show being shortened.

It can run about 4 shows an hour. Over a 1,100 capacity. If you wait in a busy crowd before the show opens its doors, you are there on a very crowded day. Most people see the sign countdown until next show and wait until it has like a minute left or now to load in.

Fun Fact: Hall of Presidents used to have an extended queue.

So I will take a shot of what could be thought of as offense/stereotypical/not of high morals by some. Not saying it offends me but I could see what others may think. My wife has commented on the songs before about them being "not her favorite". Mainly very offense to women and not very kid friendly from the form of values a few small ways. The major twang of the southern drawl could be a thing to southerners but probably not even a minor thing.

Ernest Song is about him leaving his wife at home and being a promiscuous male "Acting like a Don Juan". "A go go girl caught in my hand" "If you aint going to steal then you better not prowl". Basically it could be conveyed that Ernest goes to strip clubs. LOL

Liver Lips talks about his wife being ugly and heavy. "I only love her cause my heart is true" Demoralizing and promoting looks are everything

Sun Bonnets "All the guys that turn me on turn me down" "Nothing ever seems to work for me" is a little negative

Big Al sings about Blood which my trigger some parents of kids under 5

It is sad, that it just means that people don't actually see the real intention of the song because they can't see that a song will mention the subject matter to be against it or the subtext.

The plan isn't to kill the attraction. They are going to even update the audio animatronics in the show, they wouldn't do that if they were intent on killing the show.
Where does it say or how are you conveying that they are updating the Audio Animatronics? They are getting new programming and songs. Nowhere does it say they are going to fix them, replace them, or upgrade parts. We can hope they do, but this is budget Disney now...

Even on my visits to MK on “slow days”, the theatre was decently filled up. I am not convinced that this was a choice made to increase CBJ or park attendance. Rather, it’s a way to keep the attraction “in line” with the current company brand synergy and a justification for updating the animatronics.
