Countdown to Fun opening

So yeah, you all already know this "parade" is quite boring and extremely short. I was in the "Goodbye Block Party Bash!!!!" group and I still think this is a horrible mistake.

My pics from yesterday include multiple pictures from each section and are less than 40 total. It will probably take you longer to look at them then the actual parade lasts.

Very Disappointing

First I want to say I have not seen the parade in person yet. Was planning to go today but it is pouring rain. Based on what I saw in the video Disney should be embarrassed to have put this out. No offense to any of the performers, you can clearly see they are doing their best and giving it their all but you can only do so much with what you are giving. I loved BPB and when we were at Disney we always tried to make a stop to see it no matter what park we were going to. The army man made it different and unique each time. Did they sometimes go overboard yes but at least it was never the same thing twice. The one thing I will say is that Disney used the right song. They did not want to work that day and banged on their drums instead of thinking of a unique idea. The only highlight for me was the Ratatouille cheese float; after all it is newly painted. My opinion might change after I see it in person but I am extremely disappointed with what I saw.
The really reason for the change was the little nerf balls were getting to expensive to give away.

Backstage the parade was most the talk. regular Cast members and managers alike commented on how bad they thought the parade was and how many guests were complaining. I can say that the word has gotten across the whole studio, and its not good.

If anyone has talked to guest relations or sent emails, thank you. There have been a LOT of complaints. I cant stress that word enough, A. LOT

What is the email address that you can send complaints to? Is it wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com?

Thanks for sharing this. I feel for you guys, as i know our friends in Entertainment always do a great job, but it must be frustrating and a bit of a let down to be stuck with a bad show. 'Cinderellabration' comes to mind ( regarding how hared it was backstage behind the curtain....)

We can only hope enough of a stir is created by the Guest comments to have Disney rethink this effort and perhaps improve it a little.

I remember opening day of the first version of the 'Celebrate A Dream Come True' Parade back in early 2009 ( if memory serves me right...its late...i question!).

That first run left many a veiwer dissapointed, although it was incredibly obvious the Cast were giving their all to try to make it much better then it was ( which , to me, MADE that particular viewing special.). Shortly after the debut, there was some serious fall out and all the negative feedback about cutbacks on staffing and so few Characters led to some efforts to improve things.

It seems the same issues that Parade originally had is what the currant 'Pixar Countdown to Fun' Parade is having now. Perhaps we shall see some changes ...and more performers added. Could it be possible to add more Pixar friends too?

Hoping for the best, and it works out for everyone ( Guest and Cast). BPB was a BIG favorite for many ( of both mentioned parties) so a new additon already has a hard act to follow.

^^^ The ultimate improvement would be for them to realize how bad of a decision they had made and bring back BPB. That will never happen unfortunately, but they can certainly add more dancers but they are actually pretty limited character wise who they can add. They have all the Incredible characters that are availabe in the parks in the parade and the same for A Bug's Life, Monsters Inc., and Up. Ratatouille they can add Emille and Toy Story they could bring back Bo Peep and Mr. Potato Head, but there really aren't anymore characters they can add that they have readily available.

It turns out the Hover Bikes are still in use at DCA. They just premiered this weekend in the new Pixar Pals "pop-up" show based on The Incredibles. These little mini-shows replace the parade and just sort of "pop up" into DCA throughout the afternoon.

Here's the YouTube of the Hover Bikes in action this weekend in the new Incredibles pop-up show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRLPMzEL0FU&feature=player_embedded#!

There are other pop-up shows based on Ratatouille, Bugs, Monsters, etc. until the DCA parade route construction is done in November.

So it looks like DCA isn't sharing its toys with Florida after all. :(

I had assumed they would ship out all the big floats and equipment from DCA to use in Countdown To Fun. I guess I just learned my lesson about assuming with TDO.
.

The first 2 minutes of this was better than the entire CTF parade. times 10.

The parade was slowed way down today, so it seemed longer.

The main complaint was no guest interaction. I'm not sure how they plan on improving this, but some of the street parade people started involving guests a bit more.
I hope they continue to improve on this parade, as it has potential to be a good one i think

What they need is actual floats for the Incredibles, Ratatouille, and UP. In addition to the "blocks". At least then it would be an acceptable parade.

Great so now the parade just painfully crawls down the parade route. If there was interesting choreography, more performers, and better looking floats it wouldn't be a problem. Now it just shows off the bad choreography and bad floats even more now that you have the time to look at them.

How about a parade that doesn't have ONLY Pixar characters? Its so much cooler when they mix them up with regular Disney characters. And how about somthing that fits the DHS theme while they're at it. :brick:

Yes
What a depressing, sad parade we have on our hands right here. With all of the cutbacks to Celebrate A Dream Come True that have been happening, cutting the show stop and princess floats, I'm surprised that cutbacks came as late as they did.
But this is truly an all-time low. No character voices, the same music loop over and over again, horribly spray painted floats with obvious elements of a better parade past still sitting there. But I know that they will never use them again, and try to "fix" the parade as they have tried so many times with other bad parades.
At least I can still say that I am pleased with Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade, which as far as I'm aware still has everything that it started with, and the Main Street Electrical Parade.
With a name like "Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun Parade" you shouldn't expect much, but unfortunately for me I was still disappointed.

Yeah, I try. In the six years (I know, right) since I joined this forum the interwebz has exploded into twitters, facebooks, etc... So hard to keep up everywhere.

I still remember my roots and share when I can.

I personally felt that the show stops didn't fit in the Magic Kingdom parade and was happy when they were removed.
