Cosmic Ray's Renovation This Year

My wife and I stopped by Cosmic Ray's last weekend and heard an interesting rumor. My wife was speaking with one of the CMs who said that Comic Ray's was going to be renovated this year; as early as construction starting this September. He said that they are going to remove the wall the separates the Bay 3 seating area and the outside seating area. They are then going to enclose the outside seating area (making it inside seating area). The CM also said that there would be some menu changes, but it seems that the menu changes every few months anyways...

Anyone else hear about this?

That's great if they really do enclose the outdoor seating. Cosmic Ray's can use all the extra seating it can get indoors-wise.

Would this really require the whole restaurant going down? I would think this could be done in phases.Wouldn't they want to keep the largest QS open for the masses?

Well, the rumor from the OP just said there would be renovations (sounds like a good concept so far) and did not speak anything as to whether the entire restaurant would close. Now, logic, reason and prudence all dictate this can be done in phases, as pointed out above, without closing the entire restaurant in a park desperately needed every QS and TS venue operating at 125%...so TDO will probably close the whole thing for a couple of months.:hammer:

I'm just kidding folks, I think even the dimmest bulbs at TDO can figure this out.

They could probably close during the off season and be ok. They also have two dining venues they could open temporarily if they needed them.

I dont care how long they close it for, as long as when it opens I dont have to wait in 2 lines just to get a dang kids chicken nugget meal.

hmm... I don't see how they could close the entire place down, so I'm for build a temp wall and partially close part of the restaurant (probably bay 3 over..) since they use Sonny's area as a rainy day location for the club 626 dance club at Halloween parties...

granted if they reduce the menu for renovations they can open the tomorrowland terrace area and use that for lunch / dinner (depending on the season) overflow if needed...

Have not heard this but this sounds like a great plan as it is usually too warm outside there anyways...

As long as nothing happens to Sonny Eclipse and the toppings bar, I'm happy... :lookaroun

I love Sonny Eclipse!!! :) Though I would like them to extend (leaving the existing show as one of the sets) the show's overall length... mimic the voice..and importantly to mimic the style and music of the current show (dont try to give it updated hip music lol...)

I think the length of the show was planned in line with how long the average guest eats their QS meal. The loop is about 30 minutes long which is about right for a meal that length. Plus, if it were extended there is a good possibility that people would just sit there and watch it well after they have finished eating...and we all know how hard annoying that can currently be when you are looking for a table at lunch time.

I guess were in the minority here. We love to sit outside and see the castle. hear the sounds, and enjoy a good meal without the crowds. Too hot! then stay inside with the masses. I am for an upgrade and renovation, but to take away the outside seating is crazy. Its the only CS that has it with a view IMHP. It gives our family a little time away from the noise and calamity of MK. If there is no outdoor seating, cross it off our list. Take Take Take Take! Whatever happened to enjoying the surroundings. Benn ther both hot and cold times, and the inside just sucks all around!

So, if you bring a burger from a prior visit, the toppings won't stay on it. Brilliant!

For $8.50 you can buy a bag of encoded bread and have all the free toppings bar sandwiches that you desire for the length of your stay. So, it is a little more than just burgers. Hot dogs will have a different top secret technology. Casey's is going to be a mess.
