I remember when it used to be great when the live entertainment used to come up from the floor (1980's?), now just some dumb puppet telling the same jokes visit...after visit....after visit. Mediocre service and ok food.
!

I think the stage works....was at the Christmas party last year and there was no Sonny on the stage!

I remember the live bands!!!! In fact I saw Shalamar there live at Grad Night '85

I hope that if they renovate cosmic rays that disney gets Kal David back into the studio to update Sonny's playlist.

Hopefully we will get some new tunes out of Sonny...along with an improved sound system.

Flavious & Devoy: It depends on what is updated new tunes. I think what they ought to do is to ADD to the show...add some new "sets"....and mimic the current voice so people wouldnt even suspect it is a different voice. Also they should remain true to the current style of the music, humor, etc.....none of this "lets make it Hip and new" after all thats what got us Tiki Room UNM.

Agree with you here. I think what will help tremedously is an updated surround sound system...compact ones only came out what 20 years ago? It's close to impossible to hear/understand what Sonny is saying or singing in there because the sound is so muffled, I know the idea is to make it sound like the voice is coming from the AA, but it's a concert setting, and he has a mic, so his voice should be projected throughout the entire room.

What would also be great if they do end up enclosing the patio seating (which i'm not sure how I feel about this) is if the could do some "side stage" show out there as well. Because even though I doubt most people can hear Sonny or care/like what he's singing, people want to sit in that main dining room because that's where the entertainment is. Put something in the back room as well to help push people to want to sit back there instead of it just being a last resort.

Perhaps they could update Sonny to interact with the crowd between songs like Mr. Potato head does....though if they go that route PLLLLEASE give him more lines than our Barker Spud!

Both Casey's and the Launching Pad are closing down for just over 2 weeks starting end of August thru mid September. I would not expect anything to happen until those two CS restaurants are back open 100%. September is the free dining high point of the year and the restaurants will need capacity.

Am I the only one who has had my tray full of food knocked out of my hands in there? It's always packed in there and people seem to just barge into you for some reason. Whilst I love the place, it's like a mine field when busy

He sounded perfectly clear during several visits lasts month.

perhaps the diners who surrounded me on my previous visits were abnormally loud then, or they didn't have the volume turned up enough. But I think it could definitely be louder!

It needs to be renovated. Nostalgia aside, it is a pain waiting in several different lines to get food for multiple people. It is a neat concept and worked for many years. Also, the place needs a lot more seating.

I dunno, they might bring in the guy that redid the TTA narration to record something nice and safe (read boring, bland, and ruinous) for Sonny.

Well it is not like disney is going to have their version of richard cheese added, but they can get away with some stuff with sonny.

Sonny is a lounge singer, his songs are going to be songs from that era. The only way that sonny can sing more recent songs, is if he mocks them like richard cheese and disney is not going to have his type of show in their parks.

Cosmic Ray's could use a little bit of renovation that is for sure, but to close the restaurant entirely would not be smart. Glad to hear that this is in the works though. It is after all the second busiest restaurant in the ENTIRE WORLD (as in Earth...not just Walt Disney World). #1 being a McDonald's in Europe somewhere.

I would like to see something like what they have now and tron mixed in.
