You are so right. The vaccine campaign is abysmal! 🤣
(we must laugh, or we cry)

***and I always thought, when Trump was running - why do we report on him so much? Give him so much attention as if we are legitimizing him? Let's ignore him and maybe he'd just go away....
Positive news and information about the benefits of vaccination are just not getting through. In my opinion, the powers that be have not articulated a clear, consistent message as to why vaccinated people are being told to continue mitigation measures, avoid travel, etc., so people assume it's because the vaccines aren't good enough.

A poster in another thread condescendingly offered "thoughts and prayers" that my family won't contract a fatal disease based on my "misinformation" that vaccinated people do not have to quarantine and get tested after being exposed to COVID. Yet that is exactly what the CDC guidelines provide (unless you actually have symptoms or live in a group setting).

I agree with @sullivan.kscott that we need a positive, upbeat campaign to get people on board with getting vaccinated. Instead, all we're hearing is what you still can't do even though you've been vaccinated.

From the start I’ve been so frustrated with how the whole thing is a free for all. Everyone’s just making up their own rules it seems.

I’m not still not traveling based on the CDC recommendations. When is it safe to travel cdc?

I've been traveling all over for work since June, and haven't had a problem, including to a large number of states and even the UK. Repeated negative tests, and still do the mask thing. It's been fine for a while.

Someone needs to tell the CDC. They’re still telling people to delay even domestic travel.

And to avoid medium to large size gatherings. Indoors or out.

I was planning to go to an Easter concert... the seatings is distanced but it’s still indoors and going to be several hundred people. The cdc does not recommend it.

It’s very frustrating. If it’s a legit risk these businesses should not be operating. If it’s not a legit risk, cdc is lying.

A certain segment may look at falling cases and ask themselves "why should I" put themselves through the little effort it would take to get the vaccine or "see, there you go, I didn't get it but cases are still falling. Mission accomplished". Immigration next? moving on
I'm glad I only did the J&J, I don't think I'd want to put myself through a 2nd round with worse side effects than what I got. Which makes me wonder what the incomplete vaccination percentage is.

How so? A decent mask will do more than your hand/elbow.
There is zero chance that the "masks" that the vast majority are wearing stop the cough droplets as well as if you properly cough into your elbow where you completely stop the spray of droplets.

I'll give you a choice. Walk up to two people that have symptomatic COVID, one is wearing a cloth face covering but won't cover their cough and the other isn't but will properly cough into their elbow. Which will you allow to cough in your direction from 6 feet away?

Fewer and fewer people are listening based upon the full or close to full flights I've been on recently. I haven't listened since day one and have taken trips since early May 2020 (only cancelled the March 2020 Vegas trip because March Madness was cancelled and the hotels shut down).

Either, I am vaccinated but I would urge them to go home if they are ill

Neither, thanks! I’ll keep my distance!

What state are you in?
Again, I don’t know any state apart from CA where indoor dining wasn’t re-opened to some degree months ago. And with a few county exceptions, everyplace has been 50%+ for quite a while.
what state do you believe still has closed indoor dining?
Virginia still has 25% indoor capacity, or six foot spacing, whichever is less.

We need people like Redfield to shut up with supposition and speculation. He "feels" the bat/market theory is not logical". What could he have to gain by blowing this whistle at this time?

I was just reading that article. I am not expert on the topic but I thought it was pretty common for viruses to cross from bats to humans?

It's Friday and Saturday night that the restaurants need full capacity to turn a profit for the week. There are plenty of restaurants I've seen near my house that have long waits on the weekend where pre-covid the wait was never more than 15 minutes at peak times.
I just haven’t seen that anywhere near me. I go to most of the same places I always went to pre-Covid but just get takeout now and whenever I’m there picking up on a Friday or Saturday night the dining room is never more than half full. The only exception was this Summer when it was more crowded for outdoor dining. One place I go to a lot had a wait for tables outside and only 1 or 2 tables filled indoor. I’m not saying there aren’t some restaurants that hit that capacity limit and suffer because of it, but I think the far bigger issue is the general lack of desire to eat out from the masses. As more people get vaccinated and cases continue to drop off I think that rebound will start up. The bigger win for restaurants will be lower covid in the community, not allowing the indoor dining to be open 100%.

In the following study/report an intermediator host was often involved in crossovers.

Title: Bat origin of human coronaviruses
Hu et al. Virology Journal (2015) 12:221 (2015 - So we do not have to worry that the science was distorted by international politics due to our current Pandemic)
