I think the state is only 26% vaccinated due to supply, not lack of demand or any bizarre political motive based on an election result.
The reason the slots are opening up is the high risk for severe complication segment is as vaccinated as it is going to be and the death/hospitalizations show it.
The time to get shots in arms is being wasted with people not making appointments or not showing up so having warm bodies ready to get shots is important. The faster we get the most people vaccinated the slower the spread and the lower the risk of mutation. The ones that don't want to, are lazy, will never get the vaccine can be dealt with later. Speed is of the essence here as we have seen with the current variants circulating that are more transmissible than the wild variant from the beginning.
Cases are rising, people are saying **** it and we are not ready to do that yet. Numbers do not lie.
