Why do you say "even those who die had pre existing conditions", what difference does it make, they are still dead. The only reason I can see to focus on that is that you and your loved ones are lucky enough not to have a pre-existing conditions.

I don't know how people can look at the number of deaths and not think this is a bad thing. Maybe people are getting numb to it. If I went back to December 2019 and told someone that next year 215,000 people in the US were going to die in a national disaster people would be appalled at that number.

There may be preconditions, that an “unlucky” just has through no fault of their own, All my preconditions are self made and only my fault.

if I understand correctly that means any event could be held there at full capacity.

If that's the case, it makes the rumors that WrestleMania will move from it's planned site in LA to Tampa. That seems like a crazy plan to me as things stand right now - and it's even crazier to think that full stadiums would be allowed today. Thankfully it seems like at least 1 team in the state isn't jumping at the chance to have a full crowd. Hopefully the other teams take the same stance.

...And remember that the governor is also opposed to mask rules and has removed the ability for local governments to fine anyone for not wearing a mask so how many of the 65,000 people packing into a football stadium or Wrestle-mania or any other event won’t be wearing masks now too. Seems like a great plan. It’s not like we’ve seen super spreader events with this virus. Brilliant :)

See, what I said was a fact. With 7.5million cases in the United States with 212,000 deaths is about 2.9%... for all people. I consider above 70 to be people as well. Are you saying you don’t?
We have been going through this for 7 months now - if you still don't know the difference between CFR and IFR, you should not be commenting any sort of "facts" on this situation lmao. Do some googling and come back.

It will be interesting to see how many people will want to go? 20,000?40,000?

edit- Just saw that the dolphins have no plans yet to go over 13,000.

Here’s the real story. Nothing was mentioned about breaking the company up. The investor suggested DIS forego their dividend and use the cash to invest in streaming content. They also suggested that Disney consider bringing more or their blockbusters straight to streaming. It even notes in here that the tone in the letter sent to Disney was more supportive than typical activist investor activity. Nothing I’ve seen suggests or even hints at a request to break up the company.

The problem is this means institutional investors will start selling shares in the company once it becomes clear they aren't getting their profits anytime soon.

Who's gonna buy those shares up? Hedge funds, the ones who see industries like TV and newspapers as dinosaur media doomed to collapse, no matter how many jobs will be lost if they fall. They're the reason Time Warner ended up spinning off Time, Inc.

Individual businesses still have the right to cap capacity, require masks and require distancing. This just opens the door for them to legally not do those things. I would be more concerned with college football games. The concept when the season resumed was to have games with limited capacity, distancing and masks with no tailgates. This opens the door wide open for full attendance, no enforcement of masks and full tailgates.

Investors seemed fine with Disney investing money in streaming services. I don’t think this changes anything really. If anything it pushes them further towards the streaming business over traditional network and cable TV but that was coming anyway. If you lose some income funds that invest more heavily in dividend paying stocks you gain ones that invest more heavily in growth stocks it’s a wash. There’s no indication this would have any bearing on the parks either.

It's a fact, based on one source of data:

1,056,364 recorded global deaths / 36,156,920 recoded global cases = 3%

but because of the prevalence of asymptomatic people we can be pretty sure the case number is much higher then that this reducing the actual case fatality rate. The actual number is likely under 1%, but still higher then the rate for Flu.
You’re right! I didn’t think of the asymptomatic people- but definitely still higher than the flu

From what I understand the super bowl will be allowed here in Tampa with 0 restrictions as well 🤦🏼‍♀️

I was at the FSU vs. Miami game at hard rock after the Governor's order and there were no mask compliance issues other than the typical falling below the nose or "chin diaper" but people responded to the mask police without incident.

I don't follow sports, but we do say FSU a lot at our house.

FSU!

Easier to enforce with lower capacity. Once there’s a full stadium its next to impossible to enforce and certainly not at tailgates. Having all those people mixed together without any distancing and with partial mask compliance could be a recipe for disaster. One of these games could very well be the story talked about 100 years from now like the Philadelphia parade during the Spanish Flu pandemic that led to a major outbreak.
