Anyone care to do the math for me? Just trying to see per Capita how we compare to Florida in BC.

Florida Covid Deaths 14,766 / 21.48 million people

BC Covid Deaths 242 / 5.1 million people
Newfoundland and Labrador ask you to hold their beer.

Ok, Who wants to go to NJ? Maybe pass through on the way to NY.
As someone who had to drive into NJ every week-day for work pre-Covid I tend to agree...but the Jersey shore has some pretty good beaches and they do have some good corn. The reverse is a a bigger problem. NJ is one of WDW’s biggest target states for visitors. A lot of people live there and there are a lot of people in the higher income demographic that’s especially appealing to WDW. With NY/NJ/CT sharing their travel lists and neighboring states like PA having a very similar process it’s still a big deal for Disney.

Got it but its not about people going to NJ then its about people getting out of state and traveling. Is NJ restricting people from leaving? I know some PA folks complaining about NJ people migrating to eastern PA. There are a lot of NJ plates on 95 heading south!

A lot of NJ folks complain about PA folks crowding the Jersey Shore. So they can pipe down...

It’s amazing to me how many people think all of NJ is like Newark.

Nobody is restricting anyone from going in or out of states. The travel quarantines go both ways so if a person from FL comes to NJ they must quarantine for 14 days and if a person from NJ visits FL then returns to NJ that person must also quarantine for 14 days. That’s causing a lot of people from the states with travel quarantine restrictions like NJ to avoid normally popular tourist spots like WDW. If your kids are in school physically or you work outside the home most people don’t want to dedicate their vacation time plus 2 weeks to go to FL.

Some people who work from home and don’t have kids in physical school may not care. Some people will just ignore the quarantine requirements if they can (depends on if their jobs require it). Some of the NJ plates heading south are snow birds heading back to FL for the winter months. They don’t have to worry about quarantining until the Spring and hopefully these travel restrictions will be l g gone by then.

With a survival rate over 99% (for people under 70), I wouldn't exactly say Florida was loosing. Some people continue to act as if bodies are littering the streets of their neighborhood and we are living in some scene out of Resident Evil. Why? Why do they act like this? Why do they continue to shame anybody who questions the narrative?

It's getting absurd. There are people getting ill from seasonal allergies or the common cold and their immediate reaction is to point the finger at others for spreading covid or even for spreading allergies. Then you have people who have absolutely no idea what the actual circumstances are telling them to report those people or businesses to OSHA or the local task force. 99% survival rate and it's been show time and time again that even those who die had pre existing conditions a majority of the time. But ya, I know, I'm a conspiracy theorist for pointing out the survival rate. I don't care about life because I think wearing a mask in your car is ridiculous.
The survival is rate way is over 99%. You were being generous.

Why do you say "even those who die had pre existing conditions", what difference does it make, they are still dead. The only reason I can see to focus on that is that you and your loved ones are lucky enough not to have a pre-existing conditions.

I don't know how people can look at the number of deaths and not think this is a bad thing. Maybe people are getting numb to it. If I went back to December 2019 and told someone that next year 215,000 people in the US were going to die in a national disaster people would be appalled at that number.
