There is always the option of being severe in the number of guests , I think opening the most expensive resorts first would be a good thing as I would assume (Its not fact and just my idea of it) that there are less people in those. It would basically be a basic test of how it would work in value hotels.
It still is going to awhile to come up with a way to implement the measures. Its why I think fall is when they open.

Just watched a YouTube video claiming word is being leaked out by Universal maintenance that it has plans to call back team members mid May and tentatively opening June sometime. Please don’t shoot the messenger. One point brought up in the video is that sharing opinions is a good thing but attacking others for theirs is not good.

This was the feeling I got on the Task Force call yesterday from Gov. Desantis. While he didn’t specifically mention theme parks, he was adamant about businesses agressively working on a plan to open sooner than later. They are reconvening on Friday, so hopefully we’ll hear something soon thereafter. I also think it’s a good thing as people want to get back to work.

As a side note, I believe if the theme parks open in late May/early June time frame they will provide masks for their employees if they choose to wear them, but will not mandate them for guests. While there is an executive order in Florida at the moment for masks it is an order requesting to wear them, not an order requiring them. Just my opinion of course.

I can see the start of an opening in July , starting with the most expensive resorts and one park for the people that are in those resorts , might be including a temp check as well and a test before entry.

I’m with you. Originally I said June 1, but now I think it will be earlier.
Even in the case it ends up being open sooner , it wont be a "fun experience" to go to Disney in conditions such as we have now , it's basically a health hazard to gather in such a large crowd especially with no social distancing. I can assure you it wont be fun to go there until things get better.

So you’re going with the naked gun “nothing to see here” timeline?

I haven’t heard a peep from six flags or AB parks...

But I gotta ask how that plays anyway? Sandusky Ohio perhaps... it the others are closer to more dangerous areas for spread.

Literally laughed at and made fun of for my June 1 opinion..... I guess we will see what happens....

July 5th still seems to b
I am sticking to my original prediction. Parks will open June 1. If sooner, all the better.

I have to agree that there is at least a potential to do so. do not know about Sooner, but June as a month is still a possiblity, if not, than I feel like there would be no reason for other big cmpanies like Universal and Cedar Fair to still be paying their employees in masses while they can, hoping there is a chance to open at that time in some capacity. If there was no chance as of two weeks ago of it happening than a Furlough would have been the way to go already.

You are going to see your smaller parks that do not have large or compact crowdspace open first.
Lagoon in Utah, Zoos and Fun Spots/Bowling Alleys or family fun centers. Once those and the major theater chains have been open for a few weeks, that is when the major theme parks will reopen.

You're not made fun of , you're just not realistic to be entirely honest , and as I said just above , even IF WDW ends up being open , it wont be a fun experience because it will be severely limited , it wont be the WDW we know , it will be 1/10th of the usual experience if even that.

The narrative that we need lockdown and a 6 foot hoola hoop is breaking down as we speak. By fall we'll all be hugging each other singing kumbaya.
We don't need to lockdown and be in a 6 foot hoola hoop. When I said measures, I was going by measures that Disney is rumored to implement to go the parks. That takes time to train the CM's and they haven't even called any of them back yet.

Casinos in vegas are planning to open. Think about that.

This is like the fall of the Berlin wall all over again! Get your shovels and hammers or what ever you have get ready!
Casinos opening with a lot of restrictions and social distancing in place isn't the Berlin Wall falling. Temperature checks to get in, having to wear masks at all times, only 1/3 of the casino open doesn't sound like the wall is crumbling to me.

Not entirely true, people are turned away all the time for attire that is against their dress code (profanity, too revealing, etc).

They are most definitely not anymore. They don’t say ANYTHING to women for clothes “too revealing” ever since the whole “sl*t shaming” movement. And only once in a while do they tell someone to turn their shirt inside out for profanity. And most just switch it back when they get back in the park anyway.

Masks will be enforced with equal halfheartedness, I’m sure.

With the same randomness of security guards have been. They will have to try a little harder and it will look more for the bigger worldride scruntiny, but I believe you are right.
Some of the budget of guards that would check bags will be focused on scanning temparatures.

Would security guards be changing gloves after each bag check? haha.

So I saw that Georgia is re-opening some businesses on Friday. Would you guys judge me if I drove down from PA to get a haircut? My calendar appears to be wide open. @Bill in Atlanta I may need a recommendation for a good barber shop ;)
My wife started cutting mine and you know what? It’s a better job and I’m saving money! There’s one place I won’t need anymore.

If it makes people happy for laughing at others opinions, let them. I thought this was a Disney fan site and came here to hopefully get information from people “in the know” but am finding there are a lot of opinionated people here. 😳 I joined the other site as well and it’s a tiny bit better. I may stick to liking food photos. 😆

But it shouldn’t be.

We are risking more pain and hardship...economic and personal...if this gets screwed up and there seems to be a small, but vocal portion of the country that is shouting for it. As usual those that shouldn't talk probably are doing most of the talking.

We’ll see...people are tired now? Gonna be very tired if there are flashes and people are landing in the hospital and/or worse in any frequency over the entire summer. Big risk on multiple levels.
