That's scary. Every dollar the government spends is going to have to be paid back with interest from taxpayers in the future. At this rate I will be pushing my family to migrate to a different country as we are headed toward a tax rate that will be insanely high to pay for all this.
I understand the unemployment but fail to understand giving so much to those that are still working. I’m on early SS and my hubby works at a hospital so he’s pretty safe. Not sure why we’d be eligible.

But if they re-open and you don't like the conditions they are operating under you aren't forced to go. You can just delay your visit until the conditions evolve to a point where you are comfortable. I do not understand this philosophy that if you don't like how things might need to operate to allow them to restart operations they should just stay closed. That is simply not realistic.
But with DVC you ARE forced to go to wdw to get a consistently good value out of it...

You skipped that part

There is no rhyme or reason to a lot of it. Kids over 17 apparently don't qualify for the 500 that kids under 17 qualify for and if you happen to be a college student over 18 you don't get squat if you parent claimed you as a dependent though you still don't get the 500... So some of it just doesn't make sense I suppose those dependent kids don't have any expense in the eyes of the government or they just expect them to borrow more in student loans.

You know what's funny?
Unfortunately, the general public can't be trusted with following guidelines and safety precautions
Nonsense. The sacrifices the majority have made has been amazing. What people have gone through trying to keep their families and others safe should be celebrated.

Ultimately, WDW will open when the state government is on board and Disney leadership deems it okay to do so. But it will not be without risk. Otherwise they will never open again.

You are NOT forced to do anything. You are making the assumptions (a likely invalid one) that they are not developing a plan for how to deal with that and that such a plan will be rolled out when they have a recovery plan to announce.

Cedear Fair's Carrowinds and Knotts for sure have, others likely already have or will in their chain as stated.

Kentucky Kingdom, an independent smaller park announced yesterday that they would be reopening June 12th, but pulled the Press Release down at some point.
Ok...knotts is tied to Disneyland...no doubts about that...

I’m more curious about six flags and the sea world parks?

Universal will mirror Disney or perhaps even force their hands

I’m not making any assumptions...I understand the point banks and how to use them for good returns.
I worked with the DVC system and have owned it for 15 years after.

Out of bounds on this tee shot.

Now I’m sure they’re developing some usage plan - likely rack conversion for a period - but that’s not what the poster was saying. They were saying it would be a waste to use it for bad experience and the calendar deadlines may force that

Although if your country is handing out 2000/a person then Canada's tax rate will be going up just a horribly as ours will.
You have to pay taxes on that 2000 at income tax time. So it works out for most as $200 for every $2000 you get. If you put some into a retirement plan it will even it out.

Random idea- but what would they do about the Elevator situation? I know it's minor, but doesn't almost everyone touch elevator buttons at WDW? Especially the Monorail hotels?
The CEO of Wynn when talking about re-opening Vegas mentioned limiting elevators to 4 passengers and also having door men or automatic doors from outside to lobby. I would imagine something similar. They will probably just have hand sanitizer outside each elevator lobby on each floor. After riding you scrub down. I don’t think having elevator attendants makes sense. But that’s an option too.

Remember The Star Trek Experience? They should call this The Andromeda Strain Spectacular!

Here’s is a excellent article explaining how it starts in your body and moves throughout. A good read if you have a few minutes!

Apologies for the delayed response. As I must read slower than most of you type and I sleep sometimes, I again find myself 30 pages behind.

Thank you for posting this article. It was very informative and easy to comprehend without too much "techobabble."

My pleasure. That’s exactly why I posted it because of the lack of babble. 🙂

So this isn't WDW - but gives a fascinating insight into the work Airlines are doing to maintain their idled aircraft... the same of things going on is just wild... Aircraft are more advanced than ride systems... but gives you some idea about things I'm sure Disney does have to deal with.. like birds, etc

I doubt they will do anything because the know the average guest won't think about that and they expect to have drained your wallet before you start showing any symptoms of the virus. In the end you wont be on your deathbed until they've already milked as much money from you as they can. I am constantly amazed at the places where people come into contact with surfaces and don't seem to think anything about even when you see them diligently wearing their masks to be be safe. My favorite is watching people wearing masks pushing the keypad to enter their pin when they check out or grabbing the dangly plastic stylus to sign the credit card reader... do they not realize those keys and styluses are probably dirtier than a toilet bowl in a state park restroom?

I think they will follow the pack. If Vegas opens casinos and other major hotel chains open and they all follow similar guidelines the same will happen at WDW. They won’t want to leave any possibility of liability or bad press over safety. If they follow standards everyone else is they can’t be accused of not doing enough. The parks are a different animal. It’s hard to find a comparable on the scale of WDW. In that case they may need to set the agenda for others to follow.

Just have a hand wave option above a sensor that lights up with the floor you have selected. Easier and friendly to deaf and Hard of Hearing. Voice activation back up for the lack of brail.

Obviously costly but in the long run it could save.
