Osceola county just announced that you must wear a face mask in public starting next week. $500 fine or up to 60 days in jail.
Hopefully there is a waiver for someone that is unable to wear a covering. i.e. CDC does NOT recommend coverings for under 2yo, those with breathing issues, or someone who cannot remove them themselves.

Update on Orange County. Hospitalizations due to covid have declined. Peak can come as early as April 12-17 or later. It keeps changing. Hospital bed utilization is in good shape for the peak. Orange County is deciding the mask issue in the next day or two. They say they’d have to secure masks for people and might not be practical. Talked about the tourist industry and was positive about getting it up and running with new safety precautions.

The only benefit to everyone wearing a mask is to reduce particle distribution that would be "shared" with others. Wearing it in a car (with windows closed) would not be of any value in protecting other people from germs you might "share".
There is another problem - if one wears glasses.

No matter how good the nose seal of a mask is? If you MUST wear glasses, while driving, driving with a Mask on is going to fog your glasses :(.

That is so true. I wore a mask in to Publix and was all fogged up. But I’ll do what is required if it helps. Plus we don’t go out all that much or very far.

Perhaps at the end of this month it's time to let construction crews back to work? Allow necessary employees back on property to get things ready? Get things back up and running by Memorial Day Weekend.

I doubt you will see it before late June at the earliest. July more likely

Unfortunately, I believe you're both correct. It's a shame. In my opinion, not opening by Memorial Day weekend an overreaction.

Not an overreaction. All signs indicate opening things too soon would lead to a huge spike. Disney is in a precarious position for two reasons: One is that their line of business, along with sports/concerts, is really the absolute worst kind to reopen in this climate. No amount of social distancing or temperature checks will make it a safe place to visit. Second, as a good corporate citizen, Disney has to factor in that most guests would travel to them. An outbreak at WDW could lead to mini-outbreaks all over the country.

Don't want to go too far down this rabbit hole but I see a slippery slope. You start here. How long until China's solution of Red, Yellow, or Green designation applied to a device that you wear which determines whether you stay at home (red), green (you can move about), or yellow (you'll be red soon bud so better high tail it home).
Yep. That's why I don't enable Google location services, I don't use voice activated devices, I don't share real-time updates in Facebook (ie Disney vacation photos get posted after we return home), I don't check in to places on Facebook, I don't allow apps on my phone to use my location in background mode, and I don't install any apps on my phone that require access to contacts or any similar personal info.
I do nothing that’s interesting enough for anyone to care so they can track me at will. I don’t want to start a discussion on it either. While the concept is cool and it would present valuable information it will never fly in this country. Of course I say that now, but how many people never thought they would see business forced to close, people fined for not wearing masks in public and the former chief executive of TWDC discussing temperature scans to get into a theme park. I do think we may hit a point where people’s desire to be safe and go back to some version of normal could overrule their worries about privacy. We shall see.

At this rate, if they don't get the country up and running again by May 1st.. There won't be much left to get up and running.

This. Some people still think we can just turn the country off and then hit the restart button when we want, and - economically, speaking - the world will go back to the way it was.

That’s not the way it works. The government can’t just keep printing more and more money and handing it out. I mean, it CAN, but with disastrous long-term effects. I’m already expecting another Great Depression from all of this as it is. Even IF we start reopening things by May 1st. If there was ever something I was hoping I was wrong about, it’s that. If any of you who are more economically savvy than me (which is probably many, to be fair), I will gladly hear your counter theories as to why we might possibly be okay. I’d love to have my mind put to ease.

You talking 2 months or 6?
We are 7 weeks from June 1 so roughly 2 months. I think it’s a wishful thinking that everything will just open up by the end of April. When some things do it’s going to take time for the masses to come out, especially if there are still doctors and epidemiologists who are suggesting they don’t. The main models quoted by a lot of people assume full social distancing through the end of May. I think thats the likely benchmark target.

The article mentioned they expect the service to be available for 3rd party apps by May so it’s conceivable it would be ready for a June 1 roll out.
