Most people by June would’ve gotten the virus and therefore developed immunity. Can anyone confirm this? I’m just making a guess
From what I’ve read herd immunity would require between 40% and 60% of the population so we would need about 160M+ people to be infected and become immune before the virus would die out. Confirmed cases are only 137K in US now but that will grow and many infected people are never tested.

John Hopkins estimates anywhere between 50,000-500,000 people were already infected before this was brought to light and testing started. Still along way from your 160M. Thanks for the information

If the 500,000 is correct and that grows exponentially the actual infected could be in the tens of millions by June 1 with most never knowing they had it. I still think we won’t reach herd immunity until there is a vaccine.

I wonder how long it would take to prepare MK only to open (fully operational) on June 1st?
Lots of logistics and training for CMs. There are going to be some physical changes like temporary queues to replace indoor queue space and changing the amount and location of tables in restaurants. That shouldn’t take long to implement but the CM training could be a few weeks depending on how extreme the new social distancing processes are.

Maybe they’ll do a soft opening. I imagine cast members will be called in earlier to learn new safety procedures
I can imagine the new safety procedures in the resorts ... mousekeeping in full PPE as they clean rooms, corridors, restrooms and lobbies (after all studies show virus can maintain for 72 hours on surfaces); dito wait staff in restaurants and retail staff in shops; the CM who turns up every day to collect trash and check you aren't loaded up with assault rifles in your room insisting that he/she checks the temperature of every guest in the room before entering; not riding the monorail or buses without a temp check; social distancing on boats, buses, monorails, skyliner enforced and reducing transit capacity by 70%; cashless only sales at all outlets...the list could go on, before you even consider the impact in the parks.

So it could take a month to prep?

I don’t really know for sure. Just my guess. I’m assuming work is going on right now at the management level to come up with policies and procedures. I would think a few weeks at least for training. I am also assuming the rides are being maintained during the down time. If everything is left untouched it could take quite a while to ramp up rides and test everything. I assume that a Skelton crew is still working on maintenance and upkeep.

I was hoping for mid May. But it does appear June 1 will be the date. This will be good for cast members to get back to work

1. I was originally supposed to go tomorrow through Friday.
2. Then I rescheduled for Memorial Day weekend through Saturday 5/30.
3. If I have to reschedule again, it won't be until the Fall.

I know. First world problems. And I'm okay with that.

I am suppose to go out west at the end of May. Northern Nevada and Idaho for vacation. Some of the things you mentioned have gone through my mind.

All I know is the haircuts of the 70's and 80's is going to be popular again with Great Clips closed. Or a lot of boys and men running around with bowl haircuts.

From my country 🇬🇹

Mandated curfew has been extended two more weeks, through Easter Sunday.

Our economy is mostly based on export (coffee, fruits, sugar cane, flowers, etc) and tourism. This is a mostly Catholic nation, it attracts many visitors during Semana Santa (Holy Week). Another big economic blow for us, down here.

On the bright side, our number of active COVID-19 cases, remains low at 23, as of today.

Funny you mention haircuts. I was just talking about that today. We’re all going to be pretty gy or gray (in my case).

My mother always thought my hair was too short anyway. So she'll get her wish.
