LOL are you not connecting that regardless of if we stay at home people still have it. Florida has a stay at home order. We won't see any significant changes until end of May at the earliest. And Disney opening anytime before may 1 is not going to happen, period.
Again, you don’t know that. Our stay at hone orders are until April 9. Realistically I think it will be extended by another week or two. Mid May is not out of the realm of possibility. Unless you know something the rest of us don’t?

Yes and hopefully those discussions will be something like this "hey yeah, shutting down everything might have been over the top but look at how many lives were potentially saved because of it."

I am assuming you don't understand or don't care that statics show a global economic recession will cause more deaths than what we have potentially saved . Again we need a serious re-eval when this timed period is over and not knee jerk reactions and fear mongering.

Because no one will have a job. Everything is shut down with limited workers. People will lose everything. Plus the toll it’s taking on our mental health is huge.

Wuhan is only now starting to relax rules.

The U.K. is currently on a complete lock-down and it’s very likely it will last 3 months. Other European countries have had the same restrictions for longer than us and are continuing indefinitely. For the first time since the Schengen Agreement, EU borders are closed everywhere.

Why is that?
Because more people will die from homelessness, starvation, and suicide then the virus itself. Don’t you get it? People like my family- yeah Disney is paying til the 18th but he was furloughed from his second job! There’s nothing in place besides ‘no evictions and foreclosures’ right now. He can’t file for unemployment because technically he’s still being paid by Disney... unemployment doesn’t fit a family of a person with 2 jobs. So we’ve lost about $900 a month there.... we worked so hard for our home and now will probably lose it. My mom is a raging narcissist who was physically and mentally abusive my entire life and smokes in her house... but I suppose we could go live with her...

People. Will. Die. From. The. Economic. Implosion.

that’s why people need to get back to work. And even then- some businesses will have seen irreversible damage and either close or lay off in the masses.

People. Are. Dying. Right. Now.

Or don’t you get it?

Blame your government for lack of state aid.

People die everyday and the mortality rate does not warrant this shut down to go on for months. At some point we have to come to terms with the saying" what's good for the group is good for the individual". I know that's harsh but we have to look at he bigger picture.

And let me be clear- I’m not saying let this thing kill all the old people. I don’t know the solution. What I do know is that what we’ve done is going to permanently affect families in this country. Either way you look at it.

People in New York should stay home as their state has mandated. It’s not finger pointing at just one state. This shouldn’t be so difficult to comprehend. Stay in your home and follow the guidelines. I’m on lockdown and have no plans to go to other states. It’s common sense to stay out and ride this out.
New Yorkers feel entitled. Look at Governor Cuomo's answer when asked the question if New Yorkers should be quarantined, he didn't understand why anyone would ask the question. No one from a highly infected area should travel to another area of the country. Anyone who does is selfish and self centered. Oh, that is most New Yorkers. BTW, I have a home in NYC and I know it's true. Governor Cuomo is now threatening to sue Rhode Island over looking for or New Yorkers and making them quarantine. What a joke.

I’m older with health conditions. So I’m at a higher risk. But we need to find a balance. Are we now going to shut down everything because 60,000-80,000 die from the flu each year? Is this the new norm? We need to approach this looking at all angles. I’m optimistic that these weeks on lock down are going to work. Then a gradual lifting on restrictions can take place. People need to get back to work.

If I’m interpreting the CARES act language correctly, you can now file for unemployment assistance on a ‘second job’ that’s been furloughed even if you are still being paid from a primary employer. This falls under the ‘temporary pandemic unemployment assistance’ program, which I believe will be administered through the state unemployment system. It’s all a little confusing at the moment because the language is dense and a lot of systems haven’t been fully updated yet to adapt to it... but there does appear to be some hope on the horizon for many people like you (and me!) that fell through the cracks previously.

Keep looking for news and updates on that once Monday morning hits and these things begin to sort out.
