This December vs Last December
Do you have any of these saved from the Delta wave? I'm curious to see how different the percentage hospitalized are.
It is their decision. But seriously, what parent would take a “low” risk over possibility a very very lower risk for their children. In my mind it’s a no brainer.
I thought it was originally stated that vax cards were to be shown in order to participate. I think article is funny/sad. They ae kicking people out of restaurants for not showing a vax card. Can't imagine what it will be like tonight and the #'s afterwards.Great idea. Because we can’t just “exist” we need to “live”. Sorry, this is just one of the things that we can really do without. IMO
Very familiar with the area. One of our suppliers is based in Arvada, and I’ve stayed in Louisville multiple times prior to the 70.3. Prayers for your family and friends.Going off-topic and personal for a moment... as if there isn't enough going on. There is a fast spreading wildfire in the communities of Superior and Louisville, CO. They're on opposite sides of the US 36 highway to Boulder, if anyone is familiar. We are about 20 miles away, so we are not under threat of fire. But the Costco and Target we sometimes shop at are on fire. One of our favorite restaurants is in this parking lot, and we have to assume it's lost as well. The Tesla dealership and a brand new Marriot hotel have burned. The hospital is on fire. The scanner is a constant list of address of homes that are currently burning. 300+ residences is the current estimate. Multiple burn victims. This is a suburban area, main thoroughfares. The local mall which was set up as the command center is now in evacuation zone. Why is this happening... a stormfront is moving in. It is supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow, and when this happens the winds rise to 70-80mph with 100+ guests. The wind took down power lines and boom.
So if it makes your news, or not, spare a prayer.
How would NYC NOT break records? You have ten bazillion people living on top of each other and crammed into crowded subways and buses, not to mention all the freaking tourists running around all over the place, many maskless and defiant. Wait until you see what happens after all the idiots jam themselves into Times Square for the ball drop tomorrow night. All these smug comments (not necessarily from you) about how NYC is breaking records despite mandates and restrictions are ridiculous.NYC is breaking records. Ontario is breaking records.
Where? In Canada? While true, having vaccine passports got more people to get vaccinated. It did what they wanted it to do.
A location for up-to-date vaccination cards, serious masks and adult diapers.I thought it was originally stated that vax cards were to be shown in order to participate. I think article is funny/sad. New Year’s Eve Will Return to Times Square for Vaccinated Guests (Published 2021)
The event will return at “full strength” after pared-back festivities last year, Mayor Bill de Blasio said. People will have to show proof that they are fully vaccinated to attend.www.nytimes.com
"The New Year’s celebration will present a logistical, and perhaps philosophical, puzzle for the city’s police officers, who fought the mayor’s vaccination mandate for public servants. The police will have to not only contend with crowd control, but also confirm that people are vaccinated."
Even in the Before Times, why anyone would torture themselves by standing out in the cold, jammed shoulder to shoulder with thousands of people for hours and hours, no bathroom, no food, no drinks, on New Year’s Eve, just to see a ball drop, I have no idea. Add a worldwide pandemic to the mix, and I think the only people out there are going to be the certifiably insane.Great idea. Because we can’t just “exist” we need to “live”. Sorry, this is just one of the things that we can really do without. IMO
Yes in Canada. As soon as they announced vaccine passports appointments for getting the vaccine went up. It helped get us to over 80% of the adult population fully vaccinated.Where? In Canada?

Thanks. We are actually in Arvada. One of the people who works for DH lives dangerously close to the burn zone so DH is concerned for him if the wind shifts. We are unfortunately becoming accustomed to winter wildfires in the mountains and even the foothills on the edge of Boulder. This is another level of unsettling. The locations are very familiar, it's a place we would have looked at moving to. So many people are losing their homes, and oh yeah, COVID. This is the stuff that is only supposed to happen in disaster movies.Very familiar with the area. NYC reported 44,000 cases alone today. How would NYC NOT break records? I'd never do it, but like most New Yorker's _ I've never been to the Statue of Liberty either.Even in the Before Times, why anyone would torture themselves by standing out in the cold, jammed shoulder to shoulder with thousands of people for hours and hours, no bathroom, no food, no drinks, on New Year’s Eve, just to see a ball drop, I have no idea. I’ll refer you to my above post that you just quoted.NYC reported 44,000 cases alone today.
Add to that the home tests not reported.77,848 new cases reported today in Florida.
In one state, in one day. What the hell.
COVID-19 update: Florida sets record again with 77,848 newly reported cases; hospitalizations double in a week
Florida reported 77,848 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, busting the previous record set just one day earlier, and increased its total death count by 90, according to data from the U.S. Centers for …www.sun-sentinel.com
I wouldn't be surprised if the true number were a lot higher than that, just due to the fact that the state is refusing to reopen state-run testing sites. All of these numbers are from municipal/county sites, medical facilities, and private testing sites.Add to that the home tests not reported.
I'm surprised they had enough tests to get that number
Aren't a half a billion home kits on their way?Add to that the home tests not reported.
