The common theme from those saying we need to “return to normal” is that others need to sacrifice for them to do as they please. They don’t want freedom, they want servitude.

Great idea. Because we can’t just “exist” we need to “live”. Sorry, this is just one of the things that we can really do without. IMO

Illinois governor is again encouraging hospitals to postpone elective surgeries to make way for all the UNVACCINATED people that will be arriving in our hospitals the next couple of weeks and taking up all the beds.

I know I'm supposed to be for the greater good, but because of the unvaccinated, again I will most likely get a salary cut while elective surgeries are cancelled. Again my other half is having his (house) painting jobs cancelled due to covid spread. Again we will have to work, scrimp and save to climb back to where we just climbed back to from last time. I get why they have to do this, but I'm ed at why it had to happen again. I hope this time I'm still lucky enough to just get a salary cut.

Tell me again why I'm not supposed to think people who are choosing not to get vaccinated are idiots? Why I'm supposed to be empathetic to them? Like they are to the rest of us?

Cases also exploding in Europe as well. France is blowing away records. Paris will be implementing an outdoor mask mandate I believe. Not sure how that will help with their wave. Hospitalizations in the country are still way off their previous peaks. We will see where that goes

My entire family got Covid right before Christmas. My daughter brought it home from her fully masked Gymnastics class that takes place in a huge building with very few people around. Everyone on her team and the coaches all got it.

10 yo daughter not vaccinated: Fever for around 16 hours, Next morning she was totally fine
5 yo son not vaccinated: Fever for around 10 hours, no other symptoms
Wife had Moderna 2 shots: Typical cold symptoms for 3-4 days
Mother in law had 3 shots Moderna: Very light symptoms, fatigue for a few days
I Had 2 shots Phizer: I am a very well controlled type 1 diabetic, Typical cold, lost taste and smell but I usually do when I get a cold.

It's only a matter of time before everyone gets it.

Thanks for the update. Did anyone in your family go for covid tests to verify they had covid or did they just quarantine at home? In my area also the hotels are filling up with locals checking in , locking themselves in hotels rooms away from their families.

Obviously the deaths and hospitalizations are a very important factor worth sighing about. As I am someone who is usually very pro mandates, restrictions, I believe the curfew is too much.

Some of my best friends live in Montreal, and are single. The past year and a bit of curfews was insanely hard on them, and to go back to that… with no household mixing, is insanely hard on their mental health.

I have sympathy for all during this time.

All except 1 tested positive. There was no reason for the last test.
