All except 1 tested positive. There was no reason for the last test.
The medical staff member stuffed that swab so far up my nose I let out the biggest sneeze ( into my mask ) during my PCR test, not very pleasant. . I can't imagine the unvax at workplaces who have an excuse to not get the shot, or some who get tested very frequently having to go through those nose swabs on a regular basis.

Although cases are rising, hospitalization seems to be mostly incidental (meaning patient positive with Omicron but in for other reasons, not for Omicron) in Florida. The place with the lowest ICU covid percentage is Florida. Other places where the Delta wave was still going was higher. 8.0%

Current 7-day average for total hospitalizations in Florida (Covid or not) is around 184/100000. In winter 2018 (Pre-Covid, but a bad flu season), this ran around 193/100000.

One hospital system, Jackson Health in Miami (the largest there) is breaking out incidentals, right now 57% of covid patients are incidental (in with Covid, not for Covid)

While you can't control Covid, you can slow down hospitalizations and death by getting vaccinated.
Unfortunately the vaccination window for Omicron closed about two weeks ago.

Someone getting vaccinated today would take 2 weeks to get the benefit from the first shot and 6 weeks to get the full benefit from two shots, better than nothing but by then Omicron will likely be winding down.

There’s nothing a politician/government can do at this point to stop Omicron but cancel events and close businesses, which is extremely unlikely since it would be political suicide in probably 90% of the US right now.

Makes sense unfortunately. NJ largely avoided serious delta.
Since I’m “on the ground”…it’s quite simple and has been acknowledged: the political will to “mitigate” is gone…so we have put mother nature back behind the wheel. And she’s gonna have “fun, fun, fun” till daddy takes the T-Bird away
I'm guessing a lot of Delta still mixed in there.
On 12/20 the estimated it was probably about 52%…now it’s like 75% omicron.

Correct you can't really control it.. and yes the vaccines will slow down Covid deaths and Covid hospitalizations. With this established, there should now be no more reason to segregate vaccinated and unvaccinated.

Yeah, some of them don’t do enough and some of them make may make spread worse.
