My question is whether Biden's new plan includes them.
Could that potentially fall under the OSHA rule for workplaces with over 100 employees? I wouldn't think that many individual schools would qualify under that criteria, unless you considered that it applies to an entire school district.

It does explicitly apply to federal Head Start workers.

Then I guess this is not true? So the post office may not be federal workers but then let's put them in a business category with a LARGE exemption (over 600,000 exemption). And the unions will lead the way with exemptions and leave it at that.

@FanforDisney

Can you explain why US Postal workers are exempt from Biden’s executive order? Seems like there is some politics involved. They are one of the largest groups and have a lot of public contact.

“APWU, one of the very powerful unions representing postal workers blasted Joe Biden in July: “While the APWU leadership continues to encourage postal workers to voluntarily get vaccinated, it is not the role of the federal government to mandate vaccinations for the employees we represent.”

According to a report by the Washington Post, USPS workers are EXEMPT even though they are required to be included in executive orders that apply to federal employees.”
POSTERS have already posted follow up articles post office employees will be covered under OSHA rules

I don’t think so. I think they are mostly considered state or local government workers. Maybe private schools that are run by a corporation. I think for public schools it will be up to the states.

But don't they have to like any other employer over 100?
The OSHA rule is not a vaccine mandate for all workers, it’s a requirement to test workers weekly with the option to get out of weekly testing if you are fully vaccinated. The USPS is covered under that order. For Federal employees and contractors there is a vaccine mandate. You must be vaccinated or you lose your job.

1200 dead in FL yesterday from COVID. That’s one day.
Correction - that number is for a cumulative number of days, according to Florida’s records.

Still, cue those who will question whether it really WAS due to COVID. I wonder what all that energy would accomplish if it could be put to getting people vaccinated.

Children should already have received this year's flu shot before going back to school.

Adults should get theirs Sept/Oct, IOW, now.

There are egg-free options for those allergic.

We went back to school beginning of August. Shots weren't even available until 3 weeks ago.

The fun continues. My child was finally able to return back to school on Tuesday after quarantine due to close contact with covid (no virtual option, and no mask mandates 🤦).

Do you want to guess what happened? Do you? Guess?

She was sent back home today for another quarantine due to close contact with Covid yesterday. 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
Oh wow, I am so sorry. That would've been us as well without vaccination. Like I said earlier, it's families like yours that I really feel for right now.
I understand the need to be vaccinated. However, there are people like my brother who is told by his doctor he can't be because of his medical condition. Having universal rules with no exceptions is wrong. I believe those of us who can get vaccinated owe it to those who can't so we can't insult or exclude all those who are not vaccinated.
There are very few legit reasons though and there are always exceptions offered as far as I can see. One of my loved ones with cancer had to hold off on the vaccine due to treatments but as soon as they could, they got vaccinated. Those who have a verified legit excuses can be exempt. Those like the afore mentioned loved one's child who refuses because "botox is a contradiction" though should be ignored.

It says they can be vaccinated, not that it needs to be done before school starts.

"Children can get vaccinated as soon as vaccine becomes available, even if this is in July or August. Some children need two doses of flu vaccine. For those children it is recommended to get the first dose as soon as vaccine is available, because the second dose needs to given at least 4 weeks after the first."

Our pediatrician's office does vaccine clinics and none have been announced yet, but I assume soon. I usually do mine around the end of Sept/beginning of Oct.
