Um, that's not an e-mail about a setup. That's simply about a case found in school. Also e-mails like this are notices of a case, not proving a case was contracted in school. Neither of which is what I was talking about.

My kid had distanced lunches and classrooms. We never had to quarantine because he was never more than 15 minutes sans a mask (even at lunch) all while being distanced. Granted during the height of the pandemic, we were remote. But still this is not telling me what I want to know.

Were classrooms distanced? Who wore masks? How many cases of IN SCHOOL transmission were recorded? Did anyone quarantined ever get sick? What you posted is just a notice, and really not alarming to me.

My school had 442 confirmed cases out of both school and staff (like 7500 total). None of those were due to in school contact. Sports and other thing? Eh, that did occur, but mostly with indoor sports.
Wow to bad we can’t fit the entire world inside your school this would be over in a week.

Technically, they didn't require everyone to get the vaccine. But, not getting it comes with some very real financial risk. Last post in the thread really sends a strong message.

I'd feel bad for the players whose tram was available to play but don't get paid because too many players on the other team decided to pretend they're smarter than scientists. Maybe make the offending team pay the other team's salaries that week and see how quickly owners grow tired of the Cole Beasleys of the world being on their team.

Risking losing your pay and having 2 teams worth of guys angry at you might be motivation to get vaccinated.

Sarcasm doesn't fly well with me when talking stuff like this. I'm actually supporting the idea that if you space kids out at lunch properly then the 15 minutes they are actually eating doesn't matter as much as you think. I was actually trying to be realistic for kids and schools to show that masked except for lunch really worked.

No need to be snotty seriously, we're all in crappy positions if we are parents. I am lucky that no one in my house is unvaccinated. Not all have that luxury, but last year we were in the same boat and freaking out about lunch and implying that they cannot eat a meal is not realistic or helpful either.

Hopefully capitalism will sort out the mess our government can’t.

Hit them where it hurts.

If you actually think all those kids got sick out of school then good on you.

I already gave you the number of students and employees in our district. I looked up the total of in school exposures that actually led to infections for the entirety of last year. There were 6 among students and 5 among school employees.

Contrast that to infections that occurred outside of school - 487 students and 114 school employees.

One of those "desperate times" things. Hopefully, these moves will extend beyond the NFL. This will get more people on board, especially if colleges follow suit.

There'll probably be some lawsuits eventually though, because that's just the game people are playing.

Love this! I'm glad some organization finally has the kloten (used that to avoid the censor) to apply real penalties when willful stupidity hurts others.

One would hope. Any players not swayed by this decision are beyond any hope of convincing. Unfortunately, Cole Beasley seems like the sort of person who wants to simultaneously play the tough-guy and the victim. People with his mindset aren't likely to view this as anything but an attack on their rights. Hopefully there are enough players who were holding off on getting the shot for reasons that don't involve willfully ignoring facts and will end up getting it now to avoid becoming the least popular player on their team. I'd imagine that any player costing a division rival a paycheck for what should have been their first matchup of the season can expect to get hit just a little bit harder than normal for the teams' second matchup (assuming he hasn't been cut by then).

I’m amazed at your school districts.

The students that I know that where infected have no idea where they caught it.

Matter of fact the majority of people don’t.

Your school district on the other hand …

A lot of people keep saying "its the plague of the unvaccinated," or "if youre vaccinated dont worry so much about it" etc. But for me, this feels like the first variant that could actually pose a significant threat to the progress we have made. What makes me feel this way is the rising cases mixed in with lack of restrictions, AND although the research is limited, preliminary research regarding the vaccines effectiveness against Delta is a little alarming. So While I am worried and sad about the spread for the sake of others, I'm also worried for myself and other vaccinated people. Hopefully we can act quick enough.
